Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional impact of COVID-19 and resilience in citizens over 18 years of age in Metropolitan Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-26) Asmat Cornejo, Josshelyn Dayana; Ortiz Alcántara, Mercedes InésThe research aimed to determine the relationship between emotional impact from COVID-19 and resilience among citizens over 18 years old from Metropolitan Lima, 2023. A quantitative approach was applied with a basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational design. A sample of 113 citizens from Metropolitan Lima was surveyed. The instruments used were the COVID-19 Emotional Impact Profile Questionnaire (PIE-COVID19) and the Resilience Scale. The results showed a significant inverse correlation (p < 0.05) of low strength (rho = -0.262) between emotional impact from COVID-19 and resilience. The predominant level of emotional impact from COVID-19 was low, according to 48.7% of the participants, while 74.3% showed high resilience. In conclusion, the results indicate that lower emotional impact from COVID-19 leads to higher resilience.Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence and resilience in internal drug-dependent patients in a therapeutic community in East Lima in 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-07) Torero Ocharán, Renzo Guillermo; Lizano Villatty, Richard VivianoThis research aimed to establish the association between emotional intelligence and resilience in drug-addicted patients in a therapeutic community in East Lima in 2002. The research approach was quantitative, descriptive, and correlational, with a basic level and a cross-sectional, non-experimental design. The Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory (I-CE) adapted and standardized by Ugarriza (2001) and the Resilience Scale by Wagnild and Young, adapted by Novella (2002), were used as instruments. The sample consisted of 67 male drug addicts aged between 18 and 65 years. The results found a significant positive correlation (rs = .585; sig. = .001) between emotional intelligence and resilience. It was also found that 61.2% (41) of the drug addicts had an average level of emotional intelligence, while 35.28% (24) showed low levels of resilience. Additionally, the dimensions of emotional intelligence were significantly correlated (p < 0.05) with resilience.Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the facial biotype and the vertical dimension in patients of the Ortoexcelencia dental clinic in the year 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-23) Roman Meza, Mirella Milagros; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoEmotional intelligence is an essential tool for proper emotional management. It allows people to coexist effectively, while resilience helps them overcome difficult situations. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience in mothers from the “Divirtiéndonos Juntos” community in Villa el Salvador, 2021. The study was quantitative, with a basic and correlational level, and non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 52 mothers from the "Divirtiéndonos Juntos" community in Villa El Salvador, who were administered the EQ-I BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory and the Resilience Scale by Wagnild and Young. The results showed a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience (rho = 0.615; p < 0.05), leading to the conclusion that emotional and social skills help these mothers cope effectively with stressful situations and also foster personality traits that help moderate the negative impact of adversity in their family or community.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and academic stress in students of the administration school of the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani branch, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-21) Aquino Cervantes, Yanet Udi; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe objective of the research was to determine the relationship between resilience and academic stress in students from the School of Administration of the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani Branch, 2022. The study was quantitative, basic type, with a correlational level, non-experimental cross-sectional design. A sample of 169 students was surveyed, and they were administered the Resilience Scale and the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory. Statistical analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. The results showed that resilience did not correlate significantly (p = 0.195 > 0.05) with academic stress among students from the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani Branch, 2022. Therefore, the presence of resilience in students does not seem to be linked with the levels of academic stress they may experience. However, different studies consider this variable an important element for adaptation to a high-demand study period, such as university-level education.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and depressive symptoms in adults during the coronavirus health crisis in the district of Santiago de Surco, Lima, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-23) Vela Panduro, Perlit; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThe aim of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and depressive symptoms in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in a district of Lima. The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive correlational. The Resilience Scale (ER II) by Wagnild and Young and the Beck Depression Inventory II were used to collect data. 161 adults participated, 67 males and 94 females. The results showed a significant inverse relationship between the central variables. Regarding the dimensions of resilience, higher attitudes were found in personal competence (85.7%) than in self-acceptance (78.3%). Regarding depressive symptomatology, it was found that both young people and older adults exhibited higher evidence of depressive symptoms.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and depressive symptoms in institutionalized adolescents and young people in religious shelters. Peru - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-28) Quispe Caballero, Yuly; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThe research was developed to determine the correlation between resilience and depressive symptomatology in adolescents and young people institutionalized in religious foster homes in Peru in 2021. It was a study conducted using the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, descriptive correlational scope, and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. A total of 122 adolescents and young people were evaluated using the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory II - adapted (BDI-IIA). The results showed that resilience and depressive symptomatology were highly significantly correlated (p<.001); the association of these variables described a negative slope (rho<0) with moderate-high strength and a large effect size. The study concludes that adolescents who have adequately developed resilience—meaning personal skills to face difficulties and successfully overcome potentially catastrophic problems—experience fewer symptoms associated with depression.
