Biosafety measures and occupational risk in the nursing staff of a national hospital in Lima, 2022

The objective of this thesis was to determine the relationship between biosafety measures and occupational risk in the nursing staff of a national hospital in Lima, 2022. Methodology was quantitative, hypothetical - deductive, applied, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional. The instruments used were from Maza (18) and contain two questionnaires, one for the occupational risk variable and the other for biosafety measures. The SPSS v-25 was used and with this tool the analysis of the dimensions of the variables, occupational risk and biosafety measures was carried out. The results reveal that in the contingency analysis (cross tables), in the biosafety measures variable, the low level predominates in 42.4%, with 36 respondents who are located at this level and in terms of the occupational risk variable, also the low level predominates with 37.6% in 32 respondents. The biosafety dimension is significantly related to the occupational risk variable with a significance value p=0.000, the handwashing dimension is significantly related to the occupational risk variable with a significance value p=0.000, the personal protection dimension is significantly related to the occupational risk variable with a value of significance p=0.000. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant relationship between biosafety measures and occupational risk in the nursing staff of a national hospital in Lima, in the year 2022. Spearman's Rho = 0.850 and p= 0.000.

Objective: To determine the relationship between self-compliance with biosafety measures and the perception of occupational risks in nursing professionals. Methods: we will work with an applied methodology of correlational cross-section, of quantitative nature, we will work with 85 nurses as a sample where they will solve two questionnaires. After its application, data can be collected that will be coded and recorded in a data matrix that will receive through the Spss 25.0 program a statistical analysis, with a descriptive and inferential technique, the latter being through the Spearman test that will serve to corroborate the veracity of the hypotheses raised.

Objective: Analyze the relationship between biosafety practices and occupational risks for nursing professionals at the surgical center of the Regional Hospital of Loreto 2021. Material and method: this research will be based on a quantitative, descriptive, correlational approach, since the data will be collected, processed using those characteristics that were observed and for that statistical tests were used that allow the proposed hypotheses to be demonstrated with support. This research will be made up of 28 nursing professionals who work at the Loreto Regional Hospital, using non-probabilistic convenience sampling. For data collection, a checklist and questionnaire will be used for each of the variables under study.

Condiciones de trabajo y riesgos laborales en el personal de enfermería de la central de esterilización de un hospital nacional de Lima, 2024

Objetivo:” Determinar la relación entre condición de trabajo y riesgo laboral en las enfermeras”, la población será de 63 enfermeras de la central de esterilización de un Hospital Nacional de Lima. Diseño Metodológico: El tipo de investigación será aplicada. Diseño será método hipotético-deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, correlacional y transversal. Instrumento: Para evaluar la variable “Condiciones de trabajo” se utilizará el cuestionario que fue elaborado por Ana Soca en el 2023, la cual fue validado por expertos y confiable mediante Alpha de Crombach de 0,875; para evaluar la variable “Riesgos laborales” se aplicará el cuestionario que fue elaborado por Ana Soca, con un Alpha de Crombach de 0,893. La técnica de recolección de datos será las encuestas. Con previo consentimiento se procesarán las respuestas y se guardarán en Excel. Los datos serán organizados tabulados, codificados y luego se importará en el programa estadístico SPSS versión 26, así mismo se realizará la prueba de normalidad para ver si se utilizará Correlación de Pearson o Spearman y poder correlacionar las variables y dimensiones correspondientes.

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge of risk factors and workplace accidents among nursing staff in the coronary ICU of a hospital in EsSalud, Lima, 2022. The material: the study will work with a population and sample consisting of 30 nurses from the Coronary ICU at the Almenara Irigoyen Hospital. The method: deductive, quantitative approach, applied-correlation type, and cross-sectional design, non-experimental. The technique used will be a survey with two questionnaires as instruments. For the results, statistical analysis will be performed using the SPSS program, through the Chi-square test, with a confidence level of 95% and a statistical error of 5%. The hypothesis will be evaluated according to the following result: If the value of “p” is less than 5% (p<0.05), then H1 will be accepted. If the value of “p” is greater than 5% (p>0.05), then H0 will be accepted.

Effective interventions to reduce occupational risks in personnel working in the operating room

Objective: Systematize the evidence on effective interventions in reducing occupational risks in personnel who work in the operating room. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. using the grade system to assign recommendation strength. Results: Of the total number of articles analyzed, 10/10 show effective interventions to reduce and/or prevent risks to which personnel working in a surgical center are subjected. Of which the majority, 6/10, represent systematic review studies, 3/10 represent experimental studies and 1/10 represent a quasi-experimental study. Conclusions: The research reviewed showed that there are effective interventions that prevent risks and should be applied in the surgical center, such as the use of double gloves and blunt needles in surgeries, as well as the use of personal protective equipment, specifically masks. Have special equipment to reduce exposures, and the hepatitis B vaccine (VDP) among others. In this way favoring the prevention of occupational risks to which personnel working in a surgical center are exposed.

Effectiveness of occupational gymnastics in improving the health status of workers at occupational risk.

Objective: To analyze and systematize available evidence on the efficacy of workplace exercise in improving the health status of workers with occupational risks. Materials and Methods: This study follows a systematic review design with a population of 25 scientific articles and a sample of 11 scientific articles published in the following databases: Scielo, Ciberindex, Medline, BVS, Lilacs, EBSCO, Epistemonikos, and PubMed. These articles were critically evaluated using the GRADE system, which assesses the quality of evidence and strength of recommendation. Results: Of the studies reviewed, 91% are from Brazil and 9% from Peru. In terms of study type, 100% are quantitative, and regarding research designs, 45% are quasi-experimental, 28% are cross-sectional, 9% are prospective cohort, 9% are longitudinal, and 9% are descriptive comparative. 100% (11/11) of the analyzed articles demonstrate that workplace exercise is effective in improving the health status of workers with occupational risks. Conclusions: The 11 systematically analyzed articles provide evidence that workplace exercise is effective in improving the health status of workers with occupational risks.

Ergonomic risks in nursing staff at the sterilization unit

Objective: Systematize the evidence on ergonomic risks in nursing staff at a sterilization center Materials and Methods: Systematic review that synthesizes the results of multiple investigations whose search has been restricted to articles that have complete texts, which have been subjected to a reading. criticism; The Grade evaluation system has been used to identify the level of evidence. 5 were selected, finding that 40% (4) correspond to Spain, 20% (2) to Peru, 20% (1) to Brazil, 20% (1) to Ecuador Results: 100% point to manual cargo handling as the most frequent ergonomic risk in nursing staff who work in the sterilization center and 40% indicate that forced postures, repetitive movements and manual handling of loads are the risks. ergonomic problems to which nursing staff are exposed during the development of their activities at the plant. Likewise, 80% show that the ergonomic risks to which personnel are prone increase the development of musculoskeletal disorders. 20% point to an inadequate work environment as an ergonomic risk factor. Conclusions: The ergonomic risks to which the nursing staff at the sterilization center are exposed are forced postures, repetitive movements and manual handling of loads; which cause the development of musculoskeletal disorders, the most reported being cervical, dorsal and lumbar pain.

Exposición a residuos sólidos y riesgo ocupacional de los operadores de limpieza en el manejo de desechos en dos distritos de Lima Norte 2024

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la exposición respiratoria o inhalatoria a residuos sólidos y el riesgo ocupacional asociado al manejo de desechos con operadores de limpieza de dos distritos de Lima Norte 2024. Metodología: Estudio relacional, no experimental, transversal. Se trabajó con toda la población (trabajadores municipales), se utilizó dos instrumentos la técnica de la encuesta y observacional. Resultados: En el análisis estadístico descriptivo se observa que el 48% de los integrantes de la muestra tienen un nivel medio de conocimiento sobre la gestión de los residuos sólidos, el 34% un nivel bajo y el 18% un nivel alto, en tanto sobre la variable riesgo ocupacional el 46% tiene un nivel medio de conocimiento, el 29% un nivel alto y 25% un nivel bajo. En cuanto a la estadística inferencial se utilizó la prueba de normalidad de los datos, (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) por tener la información de 120 participantes. Conclusiones: Aplicada la prueba de Chi-cuadrado se observa que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la Gestión de Residuos Sólidos y la reducción del Riesgo Ocupacional en operadores de limpieza (p = 0.045 < 0.05). Esto sugiere que una mejor gestión de residuos está asociada a condiciones laborales más seguras en los distritos evaluados de Lima Norte, respaldando la hipótesis alterna (Ha)."

Exposure to occupational risks in the nursing professional who works in the hospitalization service of the Hospital of Huaycan Lima, 2020.

Objective: To determine the occupational risks of nursing staff working in the hospitalization services of the Huaycán Hospital during the 2020 period. Material and method: The study follows a quantitative approach; in terms of the methodological design, it is a non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional study, with a population consisting of 61 nursing professionals working in the hospitalization services of the Huaycán Hospital. The data collection technique will be through a survey, and the data collection instrument will be the occupational risks questionnaire by Dania Escobar Gonzales, which is structured with 33 closed-ended questions with multiple-choice alternatives using a Likert scale, grouped into 5 dimensions. The answers are dichotomous for each item, scoring 1 if there is a risk and 0 if there is no risk.

Objetivo: “Identificar la relación entre los factores de riesgo ocupacional y el desempeño laboral del personal de enfermería en el Hospital nivel II de Ica, 2025”. Este trabajo tiene un enfoque práctico, ya que permite identificar los riesgos presentes en distintas áreas, proponer cambios, desarrollar estrategias y verificar su efectividad y así lograr el mejoramiento de toda condición laboral del enfermero y técnico de enfermería, por ende, optimizar la calidad de la atención a los pacientes. Metodología: Se adoptará el hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativo, no experimental y transversal. Se contará con la participación de 80 personas entre enfermeros y técnicos de enfermería del Hospital nivel II de Ica, seleccionados conforme a criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Respecto al proceso para recolectar datos, se utilizará un instrumento para evaluar riesgos laborales, el cual incluye 35 ítems y 5 dimensiones. Además, para evaluar el desempeño laboral, se empleará un instrumento compuesto por 15 ítems y 3 dimensiones; ambos poseen la validez y fiabilidad correspondiente.

Factors that determine risk and job satisfaction in sterilization center nursing staff

The hypothetical-deductive research method is used in natural and social sciences to formulate and test hypotheses. The foundation of this approach is a cycle of reasoning that includes induction and deduction. The development of this research study will take place during the period from June to December 2023. This study will be conducted with the technical nursing staff and licensed nurses of the sterilization center service at Hospital II-I Moyobamba. It is a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive-correlational study. Non-experimental research involves observing and describing phenomena as they naturally occur rather than making deliberate changes to variables or conditions. Without intervening in the manipulation of variables, information will be collected and relationships between them analyzed. Cross-sectional research collects data at a single point in time, without follow-up or longitudinal tracking. This type of research aims to obtain a snapshot of the situation or phenomenon being studied at a specific moment.

Infecciones fúngicas y factores asociados en recolectores de basura, del Cercado de Lima, 2024

Los recolectores de residuos desempeñan un papel medioambiental crucial a través de la eliminación de residuos municipales, aunque se enfrentan a importantes riesgos para la salud por la exposición a diversos materiales de desecho. En consecuencia, es esencial identificar los factores relacionados con las infecciones por hongos en los recolectores de basura, que podrían estar asociadas a prácticas de higiene y equipos de protección personal inadecuados, para desarrollar estrategias de salud eficaces para este grupo demográfico. Por ese motivo el objetivo de esta investigación fue Determinar la relación entre las infecciones fúngicas con los factores asociados en recolectores de basura, del Cercado de Lima, 2024. Este trabajo siguió una metodología de tipo observacional, analítica y correlacional; la muestra estuvo conformada por el total de recicladores de basura, que laboran de manera independiente en Barrios Altos, del Cercado de Lima, 2024. Como resultados se obtuvieron que la frecuencia de infecciones fúngicas fue de 53%; las especies fúngicas aisladas fueron Penicillium spp., siendo el hongo más frecuente con un (50%), seguido de Aspergillus spp. (19%), Fusarium spp. (13%), Alternaria spp. (6%), Cladosporium spp. (6%) y Candida parapsilosis (6%). Este trabajo demuestra una alta prevalencia de hongos ambientales colonizadores de la piel en recicladores, así mismo concluye que no existe relación entre las infecciones fúngicas con los factores asociados en recolectores de basura del Cercado de Lima, 2024.

Knowledge about occupational health and occupational risks of workers of the security company V13 S.A.C - Lima, 2023

Occupational health represents an area of great relevance that aims to promote and maintain the highest level of physical, mental and social well-being of workers, in such a way that some type of health hazard can be excluded and know how to manage occupational risks to that do not affect the staff. For this reason, this investigation is carried out, with the purpose of determining how knowledge about occupational health is related to the occupational risks of the workers of the security company V13 S. A. C - Lima in the year 2023, since it has been observed that a group of Employees have presented certain labor problems, which although they have not been serious, some of them require some medical attention against cuts to the skin, blows, eye inflammation, muscle pain, etc., based on the above, it is important to evaluate this situation, even more so that strategies that provide or contribute improvements in the knowledge of this population regarding occupational health have not been implemented. It is an applied, non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional work, whose sample is 132 workers who belong to the security company V13 S.A.C - Lima, 2023. The technique will be the survey and the instrument include a knowledge questionnaire on occupational health and another occupational risk questionnaire, with a reliability of 0.80 and 0.985 respectively.

The processes carried out in the sterilization center lead to the probability of suffering occupational diseases and accidents, this level of risk requires to be related to the knowledge that the staff has of the Safety and Health Standards at work. Objective: To analyze the relationship of the level of knowledge of the Safety and Health Management System at Work with the occupational risk in the nursing staff in the Medical Device Processing Units of the Level II Hospitals of the province of Chanchamayo. Materials and methods: The methodological design of the research will be descriptive correlational, with a quantitative approach, at an application level, cross-sectional; The study population is made up of 23 healthcare employees of the Medical Device Processing Units, the survey will be the technique to collect information from a first source, using two questionnaires, the first questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge with 29 questions and the second to measure occupational risk with 34 questions; instruments that were validated by specialists in the subject. Ethical principles and informed consent will be essential requirements for the application of surveys.

This ongoing research will have a quantitative approach, the methodological design will be non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The population to be considered will consist of 100 nursing graduates working in the ICU of a hospital in Lima during the year 2020. No sampling will be done due to the small population size. The technique to be used will be the survey, and the data collection instrument will be the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire, which has 3 dimensions and a total of 22 items.

Labor risks in nursing staff in the operating room of Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza 2020.

Objective was to determine the Exposure to occupational risks of the nursing staff in the Operating Room of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital 2020. Material and Method the study was of an application level, quantitative type, simple descriptive cross-sectional method. The population was made up of 25 nurses. The technique was the survey and the instrument was a modified Likert scale applied after informed consent. Results of 100% (25), 56% (14) say it is present and 44% (11) absent. In the physical dimension, 56% (14) are absent and 44% (11) are present; In the chemical dimension, 68% (17) report that it is absent and 32% (8) present; Biologically, 48% (12) state that it is absent and 52% (13) present; In the ergonomic dimension, 64% (16) report that it is absent and 36% (9) present; and in the psychosocial dimension 60% (15) are absent and 40% (10) present. Conclusions The highest percentage express that the exposure to occupational risks of nursing staff in the operating room is present since 68% (17) express that they have necessary elements for their personal protection, 24% (6) manipulate body fluids, 48% ( 12) use body mechanics to handle loads, 48% (12) work under pressure, 32% (8) ventilation is adequate, 64% (16) use all protective measures when handling high disinfectant level, followed by a considerable percentage that the absence is given by the fact that 64% (16) the physical spaces and location of equipment facilitate the performance of their work, 100% (25) the exposure to chemical substances, 20% (5) the compliance with biosafety principles, 52% (13) the use of body mechanics for handling loads, 56% (14) the organization of work in the surgical center service.

Objective: To analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of occupational risks in nursing personnel who work at the Surgical Center of the Carlos Alberto Seguin Escobedo National Hospital Arequipa 2023. Therefore, work will be done using the hypothetical deductive method, with the quantitative approach of applied, correlational type, with a sample of 80 people including nurses and nursing technicians who work in the surgical center area of the Carlos Alberto Seguin Escobedo National Hospital during the third quarter of 2023, under the evaluation of two instruments, a questionnaire for knowledge and an observation guide for occupational risk practice, both instruments validated with a high reliability of 0.89 and the reliability of the second tool is 0.90, it is concluded that both are useful for this study. They are very reliable. After the application of the instruments with prior authorization from the corresponding authorities for 20 minutes per participant, a database will be created with the responses and information obtained from the sample in a program called Excel, said database will be processed by the program. Spss 25.0 statistics, providing descriptive statistics in tables and figures that will be interpreted, as well as inferential statistics through the Spearman Rho test that will serve to verify the study hypotheses, with which the conclusions of the case can be issued.

Level of occupational risk in the nursing staff of the sterilization center of the Daniel Alcides Carrión National Hospital, Lima 2020

The Sterilization Center is responsible for providing all services with the sterile medical devices necessary for patient care. The performance of the activities leaves open the probability of suffering an injury or damage to the health of the nursing staff. Occupational exposure needs to be determined to take prevention and control measures. Objective: Determine the level of occupational risk in the nursing staff who work in the Sterilization Center of the Daniel Alcides Carrión National Hospital - Lima 2020. Materials and Methods: The study will have a quantitative approach, with a descriptive and cross-sectional methodological design. The population will be confirmed by 22 nursing personnel who work in the Sterilization Center, the collection technique will be the survey through a questionnaire prepared by the author, each question with a response on a Likert scale, the instrument was subjected to a trial. of experts with tests of validity and reliability with an accepted level. Each survey will be applied with prior informed consent and respecting ethical principles.
