Material and Methods: Observational systemic review and retrospective analyzing the results of multiple clinical trials controlled studies that are the original primary studies. They are part foundation of evidence-based nursing for its comprehensive methodology identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search for Evidence is developed systemically with selection criteria, full-text articles have been restricted and selected articles have been subjected to critical reading. Results: When defining the final selection, ten articles were chosen, it is observed that the origin of the evidence found must indicate that; 30% (3/10) corresponds to Spain, 20% (2/10) corresponds to Costa Rica, 20% (2/10) corresponds to Brazil, 20% (2/10) corresponds to the United States of America, 10 % (1/10) corresponds to China. Conclusion: According to the results obtained, it can be seen that of the total of 10 articles reviewed demonstrate that 60% show the effectiveness of triage performed by nurses to reduce patient saturation in the hospital emergency service. While 40% of the evidence indicates that interventions need to carry out complementary studies to achieve effectiveness in their application.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the use of polyethylene bags for the prevention of hypothermia in premature and low birth weight newborns(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Hernández Julca, Bertha Gladys; Pérez Franco, Sandra Jesús; Remuzgo Artezano, AnikaObjective: Determine the effectiveness of the use of polyethylene bags for the prevention of hypothermia in premature and low birth weight newborns. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, together with the intensive bibliographic search algorithm and the PICO strategy. Results: 10 articles were obtained as a population, of which 100% (10/10) demonstrated that the use of the polyethylene bag to prevent hypothermia in premature and low birth weight newborns is effective; We also point out that of these, 20% correspond to the United States as well as those from Mexico, while 10% are from Uruguay, Canada, Thailand, Zambia, Brazil and England respectively. Therefore, it is concluded to consider the use of polyethylene bags as an additional effective and safe intervention to prevent hypothermia in premature and low birth weight newborns. Conclusions: 100% (10/10) of scientific articles have shown that the use of polyethylene bags is effective in interrupting heat loss through convection, conduction and evaporation mechanisms. Likewise, by preventing hypothermia we not only find stable oxygen saturation but also other vital functions and consequently the most serious complication such as neurological damage is avoided.Ítem Acceso abierto The effectiveness of using the pulse oximeter for the early detection of respiratory failure in patients in the intensive care unit(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-05) Quiroz Poma, Karina Eugenia; Suarez Valderrama, Yurik AnatoliThe critical areas unit has been created with the purpose of providing comprehensive care to high-risk patients, improving the functioning of organic systems when they are affected. For this reason, various non-invasive devices have been created that seek to ensure that doctors and nurses specialized in intensive care have the maximum amount of information to achieve thorough monitoring of patients, whether discontinuous or continuous, helping to avoid exacerbation processes. or death. Therefore, patients in this unit require constant monitoring of non-invasive devices such as the pulse oximeter that allows us to assess the measurement of oxygen saturation in the blood. This device facilitates continuous monitoring and early detection of a possible complication in our patient, therefore, it allows us to reveal the effectiveness of the pulse oximeter in this area.Ítem Acceso abierto Exercise tolerance and its relationship with pulse oximetry in amateur soccer players of the Peru Cup, Huallaga - San Martín, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-29) Ceron Alejo, Einstein Erix; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioSince the beginning of humanity, people have engaged in activities requiring intense physical exertion. However, the WHO states that in recent years, mechanization and technology have led to a decrease in physical activity, with future health consequences. Nowadays, there are ways to measure an individual's physical condition, such as exercise tolerance and the body's physiological response to activity. This study will use the 6-minute walk test and pulse oximetry, aiming to propose the relationship between distance traveled and oxygen saturation in amateur football players of Copa Perú, with a population of athletes without prior physical conditioning before an intense football match. Data collection involved equipment such as pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, and stopwatches, along with materials like resting chairs, cones, and a Borg scale chart. This applied study has a quantitative approach with an observational descriptive design and cross-sectional cut, with a population of 100 athletes and a sample of 80 individuals. Data were processed using the reliable SPSS statistical software version 25.Ítem Acceso abierto Oxygen therapy and level of inflammation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome at Hospital Nacional Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo - Essalud, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-31) Torres Coronel, Harley Davidson; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaHigh-flow nasal cannula oxygenation improves ventilatory parameters in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), reducing the respiratory period, cardiac period, oxygen demand (O2), capillary oxygen saturation (SpO2), and oxygen partial pressure (PaO2), while not affecting pH20 and CO2 results. Most studies with significant scientific evidence regarding the use of High-Flow Nasal Cannulas (HFNC) have been conducted in adult patients with hypoxemic respiratory failure in critical care units. This is the reason for my interest in conducting this research, considering that high-flow oxygenation is frequently used in hospitalized patients at the National Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospital (HNAAA). This research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between HFNC oxygen therapy and the level of inflammation in patients with ARDS.Ítem Acceso abierto Use of nail polish and its relation to oxygen saturation values in pulse oximetry.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Mogollón Jiménez, Cristhian Alexander; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjective: To determine the relationship between the use of nail polish and oxygen saturation values in pulse oximetry. Materials and Methods: Systematic review, observational, and retrospective. The search was limited to full-text articles, which were critically reviewed using the Grade assessment tool to identify the level of evidence. Results: A total of 10 articles were selected, with 30% (3) from the United States, 30% from Brazil, 20% (2) from Turkey, Thailand (1), and Germany (1), each accounting for 10%. All studies were non-randomized clinical trials, mainly from the US and Brazil, which represented 60% of the studies. All 100% of the reviewed studies concluded that nail polish did not significantly alter oxygen saturation values. Conclusions: According to the reviewed studies, there is no relationship between the use of nail polish and oxygen saturation values in pulse oximetry.
