Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of tobacco control interventions initiated in the emergency service to promote abstinence and reduce the consumption of smoking patients.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-06-12) Coronado Gómez, Diana Melissa; Basurto Santillán, Ivan JavierMaterials and Methods: Systematic observational and retrospective review, subjected to critical reading and using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the level of evidence from articles published in the following databases: Epistemonikos, Researchgate, PubMed, and Scielo. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 90% have high-quality evidence and 10% have moderate evidence. Additionally, 30% (n=3/10) are meta-analyses, 60% (n=6/10) are randomized controlled trials, and 10% (n=1/10) have moderate quality, represented by a quasi-experimental study. The articles originate from the countries of the United States (50%), Germany (40%), and England (10%). Results: 80% (n=8/10) indicate that tobacco control interventions initiated in the emergency department are effective in promoting abstinence and reducing consumption in smoking patients. 20% (n=2/10) indicate that tobacco control interventions are not effective in promoting abstinence and reducing consumption in smoking patients. Conclusion: Tobacco control interventions initiated in the emergency department are effective in promoting abstinence and reducing consumption in smoking patients.
