Publicación Acceso abierto Evaluación del efecto antimicótico in vitro del extracto alcohólico y acuoso de Solanum mammosum en onicomicosis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-09-04) De La Cruz Llanos, María Lesli; Gil Silva, Clarita Amenaida; Poma Vivas, Mónica EvenciaThe aim of this research was to evaluate the in vitro antifungal activity of Solanum mammosum against onychomycosis. The methodology has a hypothetical-deductive approach of a quantitative nature, which is classified as applied research, using an experimental design and explanatory scope. The detection of secondary metabolites was carried out using phytochemical screening, a procedure aimed at recognizing the presence of bioactive compounds of plant origin. Once characterized, their inhibitory potential against fungi was analyzed using the cavity diffusion technique (MDP), applying three concentrated extracts of 25%, 50% and 100%. The results found alkaloids, tannins, phenols and amino acids. The microbiological analysis showed that the Trichophyton rubrum strain showed a more marked response to treatment with the alcoholic extract (EA) in its three average halo values of 13.5 mm; 19.5 mm; and 26 mm. It is concluded that fruit extracts of S. mammosum display antifungal activity against T. rubrum at all concentrations tested.
