Introduction: Newborn screening involves obtaining a blood sample from a heel prick of the newborn for disease detection. This facilitates early diagnosis and treatment of various conditions that can cause irreparable damage during development if not identified promptly. Therefore, The Purpose of this analysis is to "Determine how the level of knowledge about newborn screening relates to the attitudes of mothers of newborns at a Specialized Institute in Lima." Methodology: This study employs a non-experimental, cross-sectional, hypothetical-deductive, correlational design, and is an applied research project. Population: 80 mothers of newborns from a Specialized Institute in Lima. Techniques and instruments: A survey and two questionnaires, which were applied and validated nationally in 2023 by Domínguez et al., will be used. These tools were validated using the binomial test, with a significance level of 0.039 for variable 1 and 0.94 for variable 2. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine reliability, and the results showed that variables 1 and 2 had values of 0.82 and 0.78, respectively. Descriptive and inferential statistics will be used to analyze the data, and the non-parametric Spearman's rho test will be employed with a significance level of 0.05. With the aim of promoting early diagnosis in newborns, it is anticipated that the results will lead to improvements in attitudes and educational initiatives directed at mothers.
