| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Introducción: Sarcopenia and frailty are common geriatric syndromes in the study population, associated with a decline in muscle mass and strength. These conditions increase the risk of falls, disability, and dependency. Early identification allows for the implementation of preventive strategies that promote autonomy and well-being. Objective: To determine the risk of sarcopenia and frailty in older adults attending a physical therapy center, Lima – 2026. Materials and Methods: Applied research with a non-experimental design, hypotheticaldeductive method, cross-sectional approach, and quantitative focus. The sample consisted of 90 older adults attending the physical therapy center. The SARC-F questionnaire and the FRAIL scale were used for data collection. Results: The mean age was 76.18 years (±7.128). Females predominated (58.80%) compared to males (41.20%). The prevalence of sarcopenia risk was 63.3%. Regarding frailty status, pre-frailty was the most frequent condition (51.1%). Conclusion: There is a strong positive correlation between the risk of sarcopenia and frailty, according to Spearman’s Rho coefficient (Rho = 0.648), indicating that a higher risk of sarcopenia is associated with a higher level of frailty. | en_US |
