Conocimiento sobre hipertensión arterial y adherencia terapéutica en pacientes hipertensos que asisten a una botica en Bellavista – Sullana, 2022

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and therapeutic adherence in hypertensive patients attending a pharmacy in Bellavista, Sullana. Method: The study employed a non-experimental, descriptive-correlational design with a quantitative approach, a hypothetical-deductive method, and a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 152 hypertensive patients. Data collection was conducted using a survey as the technique and a questionnaire as the instrument. The data obtained were processed using SPSS version 23. Results: Among the 152 hypertensive patients, 30.9% were aged between 46 and 50 years, and 54.6% had been diagnosed with hypertension for 3–5 years. Regarding the level of knowledge about hypertension, 45.4% had a high level, 44.7% a medium level, and 9.9% a low level. In terms of therapeutic adherence, 52.6% demonstrated full adherence, 32.9% partial adherence, and 14.5% were not adhering to their antihypertensive treatment. Conclusion: It was determined that there is a significant relationship (p<0.05) and a very high positive correlation (Spearman’s rho=0.917) between the level of knowledge about hypertension and therapeutic adherence in hypertensive patients attending a pharmacy in Bellavista, Sullana, in 2022.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo, determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre hipertensión arterial y la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes hipertensos que asisten a una botica en Bellavista Sullana. Método, el estudio fue de diseño no experimental, descriptivo correlacional, enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo y corte trasversal, la muestra fueron 152 pacientes hipertensos. Se empleó como técnica de recolección de datos una encuesta y como instrumento un cuestionario. Los datos obtenidos fueron trabajados a través del programa estadístico SPSS versión 23. Resultados, de 152 pacientes hipertensos; 30,9% tuvieron edad entre 46 a 50 años; 54,6%; 25% posee diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial de 3-5 años. Sobre el nivel de conocimiento de hipertensión arterial el 45,4% fue alto, 44,7% medio y 9,9% bajo. Según la adherencia terapéutica 52,6%, posee una adherencia total, 32,9% adherencia parcial y 14,5% no se encuentran adheridos a su tratamiento antihipertensivo. Conclusión, se determinó que existe una relación significativa (p<0,05) y correlación positiva muy alta (rho de Spearman=0,917) entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre hipertensión arterial y la adherencia terapéutica en pacientes hipertensos que asistieron a una botica en Bellavista- Sullana, 2022
