Sistema de balance y la independencia funcional en pacientes con Parkinson que asisten a un centro de rehabilitación, Lima, 2025

Abstract

La enfermedad de Parkinson es un trastorno del sistema nervioso que impacta tanto en las habilidades de movimiento como en las funciones no relacionadas, reduciendo la capacidad de actuar de manera independiente. La pérdida del equilibrio y el control postural son síntomas frecuentes que limitan las actividades diarias. Esta investigación analiza la relación entre el sistema de balance y la independencia funcional. Su propósito es aportar a estrategias fisioterapéuticas que mejoren la calidad de vida del paciente. Tiene como objetivo general determinar la relación entre el sistema de balance y la independencia funcional en pacientes con Parkinson que asisten a un centro de Rehabilitación, Lima, 2025. Los objetivos específicos incluyen la caracterización sociodemográfica y clínica, la identificación del Sistema de balance y la independencia funcional, así como la identificación de la relación de las dimensiones del sistema de balance con la independencia funcional.). El estudio utiliza un método cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental y de tipo transversal, tomando en cuenta a 60 pacientes con la enfermedad de Parkinson que reciben atención en un centro de rehabilitación en Lima. Se emplea el instrumento Mini-BESTest, el índice de Barthel, validado por expertos y complementado con fichas de recolección de datos. La confiabilidad del estudio se establece mediante una prueba piloto y análisis estadísticos de fiabilidad. Se aplicarán técnicas de procesamiento de datos con software estadístico, garantizando una interpretación precisa de los hallazgos. Este estudio servirá como hallazgo para la creación de programas de rehabilitación, así como también la creación de charlas sobre esta enfermedad neurodegenerativa y así concientizar a la población.

Parkinson’s disease is a disorder of the nervous system that affects both motor and non-motor functions, reducing the individual’s ability to act independently. Loss of balance and postural control are frequent symptoms that limit the performance of daily activities. This research analyzes the relationship between the balance system and functional independence, aiming to contribute to the development of physiotherapeutic strategies that improve patients’ quality of life. The general objective is to determine the relationship between the balance system and functional independence in patients with Parkinson’s disease who attend a rehabilitation center in Lima in 2025. The specific objectives include the sociodemographic and clinical characterization of the participants, the identification of the balance system and functional independence levels, as well as the determination of the relationship between the dimensions of the balance system and functional Independence.The study employs a quantitative method with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, considering 60 patients with Parkinson’s disease who receive care at a rehabilitation center in Lima. The Mini-BESTest and the Barthel Index will be used as instruments, both validated by experts and complemented with data collection forms. The reliability of the study will be established through a pilot test and statistical reliability analyses. Data processing techniques will be applied using statistical software to ensure accurate interpretation of the findings. This study will serve as a foundation for the development of rehabilitation programs and educational workshops on this neurodegenerative disease, thereby raising awareness among the population.
