Nivel de conocimiento de ivermectina y tratamiento de COVID-19 en usuarios de cuatro oficinas farmacéuticas de Chota, Cajamarca - 2022

Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of Ivermectin and the level of knowledge of COVID-19 treatment among users visiting four pharmaceutical offices in Chota, Cajamarca, in 2022. Method: The hypothetical-deductive method was used, with a quantitative approach, a basic study type, and a non-experimental descriptive correlational design. The sampling was simple random probabilistic. The sample consisted of 132 users who visited four pharmaceutical offices. The technique was a survey, and the instrument was a 20-closed-question questionnaire. Results: Of the 132 users, 59.8% were aged 18–28, and the majority were female (63.3%). Regarding knowledge of Ivermectin, 75% were unaware of its therapeutic and pharmacological indications, 60% were unaware of its pharmacological properties, and more than 50% were unaware of the adverse reactions. 70% had correct answers regarding COVID-19 prevention and transmission, and more than 69.7% gave correct answers for the clinical picture of COVID-19. However, 78.8% were unaware of the pathophysiology of COVID-19. Overall, 50.8% had a low level of knowledge about Ivermectin, and 51.5% had a good level of knowledge about COVID-19 treatment.

La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento de Ivermectina con el del tratamiento de COVID-19 en usuarios que asisten a cuatro oficinas farmacéuticas en Chota, Cajamarca 2022. Método. Se utilizó el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de estudio básico, diseño no experimental descriptivo correlacional, el muestreo tipo probabilístico aleatorio simple, muestra 132 usuarios que asistieron a cuatro oficinas farmacéuticas, la técnica fue la encuesta, el instrumento un cuestionario con 20 preguntas cerradas. Resultados. De 132 usuarios que acudieron a las cuatro oficinas farmacéuticas el 59,8% tenían entre 18 y 28 años, en su mayoría de género femenino 63,3%. En cuanto a conocimientos de Ivermectina, el 75% ignoraba sus indicaciones terapéuticas y farmacológicas, 60% desconocían sus propiedades farmacológicas, más del 50% desconocían las reacciones adversas. El 70% tuvo respuestas acertadas sobre prevención y transmisión de COVID-19, más del 69,7% indicaron respuestas correctas al cuadro clínico de COVID-19, el 78,8% desconocían la fisiopatología de COVID-19. Se obtuvo también que el 50,8% obtuvo un nivel de conocimiento bajo sobre Ivermectina, y el 51,5% obtuvo un nivel de conocimiento bueno de tratamiento de COVID-19.
