Relación entre recesión gingival y el tiempo de uso de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes atendidos en un consultorio odontológico particular – 2023

Abstract

El propósito de esta tesis fue analizar la relación entre la recesión gingival y el tiempo de uso de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes atendidos en un consultorio odontológico privado en 2023. Para ello, se formalizó una investigación hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativo, observacional, transversal, prospectivo, no experimental y correlacional, con una muestra de 218 pacientes. Los resultados revelaron que el 72,9% de los pacientes con prótesis parcial removible presentaron recesión gingival de grado I. En cuanto al tiempo de uso, el 66,1% de los pacientes habían utilizado la prótesis por más de 2 años. En relación al sexo, se encontró una relación estadísticamente significativa con la recesión gingival (p=0,023), observándose un mayor porcentaje (37,2%) de recesión gingival de grado I en mujeres. Además, el sexo mostró una relación estadísticamente significativa con el tiempo de uso de la prótesis parcial removible (p=0,049), siendo las mujeres las que presentaron el mayor porcentaje (38,5%) con un tiempo de uso superior a 2 años. En cuanto a la edad, también se encontró una relación significativa (p=0,015), destacando un mayor porcentaje (43,6%) de recesión gingival de grado I en el grupo de 49 a 57 años. De igual manera, la edad mostró una relación significativa con el tiempo de uso de la prótesis (p=0,000), siendo el 38,5% de los pacientes de 49 a 57 años quienes usaban la prótesis por más de 2 años. La prueba de chi-cuadrado mostró que existía una relación significativa entre la recesión gingival y el tiempo de uso de la prótesis parcial removible (p<0,05). Concluyéndose que existe una relación representativa entre la recesión gingival y el tiempo de uso de prótesis parcial removible.

The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the relationship between gingival recession and the time of use of removable partial prostheses in patients treated in a private dental office in 2023. For this purpose, a hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, observational, cross sectional, prospective, non-experimental and correlational study was carried out with a sample of 218 patients. The results revealed that 72.9% of patients with removable partial prostheses presented grade I gingival recession. Regarding the time of use, 66.1% of patients had used the prosthesis for more than 2 years. In relation to sex, a statistically significant relationship was found with gingival recession (p = 0.023), with a higher percentage (37.2%) of grade I gingival recession observed in women. In addition, sex showed a statistically significant relationship with the time of use of the removable partial prosthesis (p = 0.049), with women presenting the highest percentage (38.5%) with a time of use greater than 2 years. Regarding age, a significant relationship was also found (p = 0.015), highlighting a higher percentage (43.6%) of grade I gingival recession in the group of 49 to 57 years. Likewise, age showed a significant relationship with the time of use of the prosthesis (p = 0.000), with 38.5% of patients aged 49 to 57 years wearing the prosthesis for more than 2 years. The chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between gingival recession and the time of use of the removable partial prosthesis (p < 0.05). It was concluded that there is a representative relationship between gingival recession and the time of use of removable partial prostheses.
