Cuidados de salud bucal y comportamiento alimentario en alumnos de una institución educativa, Lima 2025

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los cuidados de salud bucal y el comportamiento alimentario en alumnos de una institución educativa en Lima, 2025.Metodología: Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental, con un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple de 139 alumnos de 6 a 12 años. Los instrumentos empleados fueron dos cuestionarios una para medir los cuidados sobre salud bucal y otro para medir el comportamiento alimentario. Para el análisis de datos, se utilizó el estadístico de la prueba de Spearman para evaluar la correlación entre las variables. Resultados: Se halló una correlación positiva moderada de 0.605 entre los cuidados de salud bucal y el comportamiento alimentario. El 87.1% de los niños presentó un nivel medio de cuidado de salud bucal, y el 91.4% mostró un comportamiento alimentario medio. La relación entre los hábitos de cuidado bucal y comportamiento alimentario fue débil, con un coeficiente de 0.199. Conclusión: Existe una relación significativa entre el cuidado de salud bucal y comportamiento alimentario. Sin embargo, otros factores como la educación sobre higiene dental influyen en mayor medida en el cuidado bucal de los niños.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between oral health care and eating behavior in students at an educational institution in Lima, 2025. Methodology: A quantitative approach and non-experimental design were used, with a simple random probability sample of 139 students aged 6 to 12 years. The instruments used were surveys to assess oral care habits and clinical observation to detect gingivitis. For data analysis, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the correlation between the variables. Results: A moderate positive correlation of 0.605 was found between oral health care and eating behavior. The 87.1% of the children exhibited a medium level of oral health care, and 91.4% showed average eating habits. The relationship between oral health habits and eating habits was weak, with a coefficient of 0.199. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between oral health care and eating habits. However, other factors, such as dental hygiene education, have a greater influence on children's oral health.
