Características de los medicamentos más vendidos y su variación en tiempos de COVID-19 en el establecimiento farmacéutico "Botica Napa", septiembre 2019–agosto 2020

Abstract

The objective of this thesis was to determine the characteristics of the best-selling medications and their variation during the COVID-19 period at the BOTICA NAPA pharmaceutical establishment from September 2019 to August 2020. Methodology: This was an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study. A total of 172,221 medications sold before and during the pandemic were evaluated and analyzed according to their Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) classification and their intrinsic therapeutic value. Results: The most sold anatomical groups of medications were: anti-infectives for systemic use (19.56%), the nervous system (18.95%), and the respiratory system (14.39%). The most sold therapeutic groups were: antibacterials for systemic use (18.68%), analgesics (17.62%), anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic products (11.71%), and systemic antihistamines (10.40%). Furthermore, the intrinsic therapeutic value of the medications was 'high value' (78.78%), and 69.99% were monopharmaceuticals. The variation in the sales of the best-selling medications during the pandemic was very high, with the largest number of medications showing a sales variation of more than 100.00%. Conclusion: It was determined that the best-selling medications before and during the pandemic have a high value, are composed of a single drug, and their variation is very high across all anatomical and therapeutic groups.

La presente tesis tuvo como objetivo: Determinar las características de los medicamentos más vendidos y su variación en tiempos de COVID-19 en el establecimiento farmacéutico BOTICA NAPA, septiembre 2019 – agosto 2020. Metodología: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo. Se evaluaron 172 221 medicamentos vendidos antes y durante la pandemia, analizados según su clasificación Anatómica Terapéutica Química y su valor intrínseco terapéutico. Resultados: Los grupos anatómicos de los medicamentos más vendidos son: Antiinfecciosos en general para uso sistémico 19,56 %, Sistema nervioso 18,95 %, Sistema respiratorio 14,39 %; mientras que, los grupos terapéuticos son: Antibacterianos para uso sistémico 18,68 %, Analgésicos 17,62 %, Productos antiinflamatorios y antirreumáticos 11,71 %, Antihistamínicos para uso sistémico 10,40 %. Por otra parte, el valor intrínseco terapéutico de los medicamentos es “valor elevado” 78,78 % y son monofármacos 69,99 %. La variación de los medicamentos más vendidos durante la pandemia es muy elevada, ya que, el mayor número de medicamentos supera más del 100,00 % de variación en las ventas realizadas. Conclusión: Se determinó que los medicamentos más vendidos antes y durante la pandemia tienen un valor elevado, de composición monofármaco y que la variación es muy alta en todos los grupos anatómicos y terapéuticos.
