Riesgo de síndrome de apnea obstructiva de sueño en pacientes con enfermedades respiratorias crónicas de un centro de rehabilitación respiratoria, Lima 2025

Abstract

Las enfermedades respiratorias crónicas se han convertido en una problemática muy grave a nivel mundial, el desarrollo de estas patologías afecta la calidad de vida de las personas, alterando las actividades cotidianas y el sueño normal, generando el riesgo de apnea obstructiva del sueño y en el Perú las enfermedades más prevalentes son EPOC y Asma. Objetivo: Determinar el riesgo de apnea obstructiva del sueño en pacientes con enfermedades respiratorias crónicas en un centro de rehabilitación respiratoria de Lima. Metodología: Estudio de método deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, de diseño descriptivo no experimental, de corte transversal; conformado por la muestra de 81 pacientes con enfermedades respiratorias crónicas de un centro de rehabilitación respiratoria, donde se aplicó el instrumento Stop – Bang, así como los programas estadísticos Excel y SPSS versión 27. Resultados: La media del riesgo de apnea obstructiva del sueño fue de 2,74 ± 1,68, teniendo en cuenta que la dimensión Bang ha sido la más comprometida con 1,76± ,86 siendo la patología más frecuente la EPID con 32,09 %, seguida los Post Covid 29,62%. Conclusión: Se concluye que el riesgo de apnea obstructiva del sueño es bajo a predominio de los varones.

Chronic respiratory diseases have become a very serious problem worldwide, the development of these pathologies affects the quality of life of people, altering daily activities and normal sleep, generating the risk of obstructive sleep apnea and in Peru the most prevalent diseases are COPD and Asthma. Objective: To determine the risk of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with chronic respiratory diseases in a respiratory rehabilitation center in Lima. Methodology: A study of deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental descriptive design, cross-sectional, comprising a sample of 81 patients with chronic respiratory diseases in a respiratory rehabilitation center, where the Stop-Bang instrument was applied, as well as the statistical programs Excel and SPSS version 27. Results: The mean risk of obstructive sleep apnea was 2.74 ± 1.68, taking into account that the Bang dimension was the most compromised with 1.76± ,86 being the most frequent pathology the EPID with 32.09 %, followed by Post Covid 29.62%. Conclusion: Conclusion: We conclude that the risk of obstructive sleep apnea is low and predominantly in males.
