Depresión e ideación suicida en adolescentes que acuden al servicio de psiquiatría de un hospital nacional, Lima – 2026

Abstract

La depresión y la ideación suicida representan un problema relevante de salud mental, especialmente en la población adolescente. Factores como los conflictos familiares, la presión social, el estrés académico y la limitada disponibilidad de apoyo psicológico afectan el bienestar emocional de los adolescentes, favoreciendo la aparición de síntomas depresivos y pensamientos relacionados con la conducta suicida. El objetivo del estudio es “Determinar la relación entre la depresión y la ideación suicida en adolescentes que acuden al servicio de psiquiatría de un Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2026”. La investigación se desarrollará bajo el método hipotético-deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y alcance correlacional. La población estará conformada por 100 adolescentes atendidos en dicho servicio. Para la recolección de datos se emplearán el Inventario de Depresión de Beck II (BDI-II) y la Escala de Ideación Suicida de Beck (SSI). El análisis se realizará mediante estadística descriptiva e nferencial, utilizando el software SPSS v.26, aplicándose el coeficiente Rho de Spearman para establecer la relación entre las variables.

Depression and suicidal ideation represent significant mental health problem, especially among the adolescent population. Factors such as family conflicts, social pressure, academic stress, and limited availability of psychological support affect adolescents’ emotional wellbeing, contributing to the development of depressive symptoms and thoughts related to suicidal behavior. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation in adolescents who attend the psychiatry service of a National Hospital in Lima, 2026. The research will be conducted using a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design, a cross-sectional scope, and a correlational level. The population will consist of 100 adolescents receiving care in this service. Data will be collected using the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) and the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI). The analysis will include descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS v.26, applying Spearman’s rho coefficient to establish the relationship between the variables.
