Relación entre bullying y necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico en adolescentes de una institución educativa nacional – 2023

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre bullying y necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa Nacional – 2023. Se realizó un estudio hipotético deductivo, cuantitativo, básico, no experimental, observacional, transversal, prospectivo. La muestra fueron 234 adolescentes. En los resultados existe un mayor porcentaje de 56,4% que hay presencia significativa de bullying. La necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico evidenció una elevada porcentualidad de 38,9% de tratamiento electivo. En alusión al sexo evidenció relación estadísticamente representativa con el bullying (p=0,023), revelando una elevada porcentualidad de 37,6%, donde subsiste presencia de bullying en el sexo femenino. A su vez el sexo presentó relación estadísticamente significativa con la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico (p=0,015), mostrando un mayor porcentaje de 28,2% que necesitan tratamiento electivo en el sexo femenino. En referencia a la edad presentó relación estadísticamente representativa con el bullying (p=0,045), evidenciando un elevado porcentaje de 46,6%, donde hay presencia de bullying entre las edades de 14 – 16 años. A su vez la edad presentó relación estadísticamente significativa con la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico (p=0,018), mostrando un mayor porcentaje de 30,3%, necesitan tratamiento electivo entre las edades de 14 – 16 años. Al efectuar la prueba de chi cuadrado, existe relación entre el bullying y la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico (p <0,05). Concluyendo que existe relación entre bullying y necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa Nacional – 2023.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between bullying and the need for orthodontic treatment in adolescents from a National Educational Institution - 2023. A hypothetical deductive, quantitative, basic, non-experimental, observational, cross-sectional, prospective study was carried out. The sample consisted of 234 adolescents. In the results, there is a higher percentage of 56.4% that there is a significant presence of bullying. The need for orthodontic treatment showed a high percentage of 38.9% of elective treatment. In reference to sex, it showed a statistically representative relationship with bullying (p = 0.023), revealing a high percentage of 37.6%, where bullying remains present in the female sex. In turn, sex presented a statistically significant relationship with the need for orthodontic treatment (p = 0.015), showing a higher percentage of 28.2% who need elective treatment in the female sex. Regarding age, it presented a statistically representative relationship with bullying (p = 0.045), showing a high percentage of 46.6%, where bullying is present between the ages of 14 - 16 years. In turn, age presented a statistically significant relationship with the need for orthodontic treatment (p = 0.018), showing a higher percentage of 30.3%, needing elective treatment between the ages of 14 - 16 years. When performing the chi square test, there is a relationship between bullying and the need for orthodontic treatment (p <0.05). Concluding that there is a relationship between bullying and the need for orthodontic treatment in adolescents of a National Educational Institution - 2023.
