Conocimiento sobre esterilización y manejo de instrumental quirúrgico en licenciadas de enfermería de un hospital público de Lima- 2025

Abstract

Introducción: La esterilización y el manejo adecuado del instrumental quirúrgico son esenciales para garantizar la seguridad y la calidad en la atención sanitaria. Este estudio se enfoca en las teorías de Dorothea Orem y Florence Nightingale, quienes enfatizan que comprender y mejorar el área estéril es fundamental para reducir el riesgo de infecciones y optimizar los resultados quirúrgicos. Objetivo: “Determinar la relación existente entre el conocimiento sobre esterilización y manejo de instrumental quirúrgico en licenciadas de enfermería”. Metodología: se utilizará el plantea el método hipotético-deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, alcance correlacional y un corte transeccional. Se seleccionó una muestra de es de 63 licenciados en enfermería que laboran en el área quirúrgica de central de esterilización del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati Martins. Los instrumentos para medir las variables son el cuestionario y la guía de observación. El procesamiento de datos se realizará utilizando el software estadístico SPSS versión 25.0. Para la prueba de hipótesis, se utilizará el coeficiente de Spearman para determinar la correlación.

Introduction: Sterilization and proper handling of surgical instruments are essential to guarantee safety and quality in healthcare. This study focuses on the theories of Dorothea Orem and Florence Nightingale, who emphasize that understanding and improving the sterile area is essential to reduce the risk of infections and optimize surgical outcomes. Objective: “To determine the relationship between knowledge about sterilization and handling of surgical instruments in nursing graduates.” Methodology: the hypothetical deductive method will be used with a quantitative, applied approach, non-experimental design, correlational scope and a transectional section. A sample of 63 nursing graduates who work in the surgical area of the sterilization center of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital was selected. The instruments to measure the variables are the questionnaire and the observation guide. Data processing will be carried out using SPSS statistical software version 25.0. For hypothesis testing, Spearman's coefficient will be used to determine the correlation.
