Estrategias de afrontamiento y la calidad de vida en usuarios con tratamiento de quimioterapia en la unidad oncológica de un Hospital de Lima, 2025

Abstract

La presente investigación cuenta como propósito determinar en vínculo entre las Estrategias de Afrontamiento y la Calidad de Vida en usuarios que reciben tratamiento de quimioterapia en la unidad oncológica de un hospital de Lima, 2025. La quimioterapia, si bien constituye una alternativa fundamental en el control del cáncer, genera repercusiones físicas, emocionales, sociales y espirituales que afectan la calidad de vida de los usuarios. Frente a ello, las estrategias de afrontamiento representan recursos psicológicos y conductuales que permiten a los usuarios enfrentar la enfermedad y su tratamiento, influyendo directamente en su bienestar integral. El estudio se desarrollará bajo una metodología hipotético-deductivo (cuantitativo, aplicada y correlacional). El grupo poblacional estará conformado por 95 usuarios que reciben tratamiento de quimioterapia. Para la variable Estrategias de Afrontamiento se utilizará un cuestionario tipo Likert validado por Ore (2017), estructurado en tres dimensiones (cognitiva, afectiva y conductual) y para la variable Calidad de Vida se empleará un cuestionario igualmente validado por Ore (2017), con cuatro dimensiones (física, social, psicológica y espiritual). Ambos instrumentos han demostrado adecuada validez (V de Aiken >0.78) y confiabilidad (α de Cronbach >0.80). El análisis de datos se realizará mediante el coeficiente rho de Spearman con el objetivo de establecer el vínculo entre las variables. Se espera que los hallazgos evidencien una asociación significativa, aportando evidencia científica que permita orientar intervenciones de enfermería y de salud integral, dirigidas a fortalecer las estrategias de afrontamiento y, en consecuencia, optimizar la calidad de vida de los usuarios oncológicos.

The present study aims to determine the relationship between Coping Strategies and Quality of Life in patients undergoing chemotherapy in the oncology unit of a hospital in Lima, 2025. Chemotherapy, although a fundamental treatment option for cancer control, generates physical, emotional, social, and spiritual repercussions that affect patients’ quality of life. In this context, coping strategies represent psychological and behavioral resources that enable patients to face the disease and its treatment, directly influencing their overall well-being. The study will be developed under a hypothetical–deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and correlational design. The population will consist of 80 patients undergoing chemotherapy, selected through census sampling. For the variable Coping Strategies, a Likert-scale questionnaire validated by Ore (2017) in Peru will be used, structured into three dimensions (cognitive, affective, and behavioral). For the variable Quality of Life, a questionnaire also validated by Ore (2017) will be applied, with four dimensions (physical, social, psychological, and spiritual). Both instruments showed adequate validity (Aiken’s V >0.78) and reliability (Cronbach’s α >0.80). Data analysis will be carried out using Spearman’s rho coefficient to establish the relationship between the variables. The expected findings are to demonstrate a significant association, providing scientific evidence that may guide nursing and comprehensive health interventions, aimed at strengthening coping strategies and, consequently, improving the quality of life of oncology patients.
