Método de aprendizaje basado en problemas y competencias transversales en estudiantes del IV año de la carrera de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación de una universidad pública de Lima Metropolitana, 2020

Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el método de Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas ABP y el desarrollo de competencias transversales (TUNING) en alumnos de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación del cuarto año de una universidad pública de Lima Metropolitana. La metodología aplicada fue transversal usando estadísticas descriptivas e inferenciales. La validación del instrumento fue medido a través del coeficiente de alfa de Cronbach (97%). El coeficiente de correlación de Spearman fue calculado para probar la hipótesis de independencia entre las preguntas del cuestionario ABP y las preguntas del cuestionario TUNING. Resultados: La muestra consistió de 80 estudiantes quienes respondieron los cuestionarios ABP y TUNING. 69% de los participantes fueron mujeres, 32.5% de los estudiantes viven en Lima centro y 44% se encuentran entre 24-34 años de edad. El cuestionario ABP y TUNING mostraron relación positiva directa entre el factor comunicación (ABP) y el factor manejo de información (TUNING) la relación fue 0.48 (pvalor < 0.05) de coeficiente de Spearman. Por otro lado, el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman apuntó que el factor identificación del docente sobre fortalezas y debilidades (ABP) tiene una relación inversa con el factor uso de tecnología (TUNING), resultando un coeficiente de Spearman de -0.40 (p-valor < 0.05). Así se concluyó que las preguntas de los cuestionarios (ABP) y (TUNING) se relacionan para los alumnos del cuarto año de una universidad pública de Lima Metropolitana.

This research aimed to determine the relationship between the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method and the development of transversal competencies (TUNING) in undergraduate students over the fourth-year of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at the public university in Metropolitan Lima. The applied methodology was cross-sectional, descriptive, and inferential statistics. The reliability of the instrument was measured using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (97%). The Spearman correlation measure was calculated to test the hypothesis of independence between the questions from the PBL questionnaire and the questions from the TUNING questionnaire. Results: The sample consisted of 80 students who answered the PBL and TUNING questionnaires. 69% of participants were women, 32.5% live in downtown Lima and 44% are between 24-34 years. The PBL and TUNING questions showed a positive relationship between the communication factor (PBL) and the information management factor (TUNING), which obtained 0.48 (p-value < 0.05) of Spearman’s coefficient. On the other hand, the Spearman correlation coefficient for the teacher identification on strengths and weaknesses factor (PBL) and the use of technology factor (TUNING) was -0.40 (p-value < 0.05) showing an indirect relationship. Thus, we concluded that the questions of the PBL and TUNING questionnaires are related to the fourth-year undergraduate students of a public university in Metropolitan Lima.
