Relación entre la higiene bucal, los hábitos nutricionales y el aislamiento de enterobacterias en la cavidad oral de niños y niñas atendidos en el centro de salud Carlos Cueto Fernandini - 2024

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo es determinar qué relación existe entre la higiene bucal, los hábitos nutricionales y el aislamiento de enterobacterias en la cavidad oral de niños y niñas atendidos en el Centro de Salud Carlos Cueto Fernandini 2024. Los materiales y métodos para esta investigación se buscó la participación de 120 niños participantes; según el rango de edad considerado en el estudio. El hisopado bucal se realizó, en partes de la mucosa oral, dorso de la lengua y vestíbulo, en un medio de transporte Cary Bleir y el frotís en dos láminas para la tinción Gram buscando identificar los bacilos positivos de los negativos, la muestra fue sembrada en Agar Sangre y Agar Mac Conkey; entre 24 a 48 horas a 37°. Para posteriormente, observar las placas y luego volver a sembrar en los medios diferenciales por 24 horas más y así hacer su respectiva identificación. De acuerdo con los resultados, existe una asociación significativa entre las variables de estudio en relación a la presencia de enterobacterias (p <.001). contemplando una magnitud del efecto de tamaño grande (V de Cramer >0.35) en ambas variables asociadas. Con respecto a los objetivos específicos, la higiene bucal se presenta en un nivel alto indicando que, casi la mitad de la muestra de los participantes (n=120) sostiene buenas conductas al asearse Mientras que, la variable hábitos alimenticios en su análisis demuestra que estos son poco saludables, Por otro lado; el agente patógeno encontrado en la cavidad oral de los menores en mayor presencia fue el KLEBSIELLA SPP con un 25.8% y la ESCHERICHIA COLI con un 7.5% del total de la muestra.

The objective to determine the relationship between oral hygiene, nutritional habits, and the isolation of Enterobacteriaceae in the oral cavity of boys and girls treated at the Carlos Cueto Fernandini Health Center in 2024. The materials and methods for this study involved 120 children aged 8 to 13 years who met the inclusion criteria. Samples were collected using swabs applied to the oral mucosa, the dorsum of the tongue and the vestibule were sampled using an Amies transport medium and a smear on two slides for Gram staining to differentiate between Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacilli. The sample was then inoculated on Blood Agar and MacConkey Agar and incubated for 24 to 48 hours at 37°C. The following day, the plates were examined, and the bacteria were subculture onto differential media for an additional 24 hours at 37°C to proceed with their identification. The results indicate a statistically significant association between oral hygiene and nutritional habits with the presence of Enterobacteriaceae (p < 0.001). Both variables showed a large effect size (Cramer’s V > 0.35).For oral hygiene, a high level of awareness and behavior was observed among participants. Nearly half of the sample (n = 120) demonstrated good oral hygiene practices and knowledge. However, nutritional habits, as assessed through a survey, were predominantly unhealthy. This situation may promote the occurrence of Enterobacteriaceae and increase the risk of other organic-level diseases. The most frequently isolated pathogenic agents in the oral cavity were Klebsiella spp., accounting for 25.8% of the total sample, and Escherichia coli, at 7.5%.
