Bullying e ideación suicida en estudiantes de 17 a 20 años de una universidad privada de Lima, 2023

Abstract

El bullying y la ideación suicida son una problemática que viven muchos de los adolescentes y jóvenes peruanos; y como tales, requieren de estudios actualizados para aplicar alternativas de solución. Por estas razones, la presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar cómo el bullying se relaciona con la ideación suicida en estudiantes universitarios de 17 a 20 años de una universidad privada de Lima, 2023. Se aplicó una metodología hipotética deductiva de acuerdo al enfoque cuantitativo y según el diseño no experimental correlacional. De esta manera, se aplicaron los instrumentos de Acoso Escolar de Cisneros y de Ideación Suicida de Beck, ambos instrumentos fueron respondidos por un total de 80 estudiantes universitarios de 17 a 22 años. Luego, los resultados de los estadísticos descriptivos reportaron que la muestra nunca habían sido víctimas de bullying, pero pocas veces habían experimentado ideas suicidas. Y en los análisis de las pruebas de hipótesis se observó que el bullying en general y todas sus dimensiones (restricción de la comunicación, exclusión y bloqueo social, desprecio y ridiculización, hostigamiento verbal, coacción, robos, agresiones, intimidación y amenazas) se relacionaban de forma positiva y significativa con la ideación suicida; confirmando así, todas las hipótesis alternas.

Bullying and suicidal ideation are a problem experienced by many Peruvian adolescents and young people; and as such, they require updated studies to apply alternative solutions. For these reasons, the present investigation aims to determine how bullying is related to suicidal ideation in university students from 17 to 20 years of age from a private university in Lima, 2023. A hypothetical deductive methodology was applied according to the quantitative approach and according to the correlational non-experimental design. In this way, the Cisneros School Bullying and Beck's Suicidal Ideation instruments were applied; 80 university students answered both instruments from 17 to 22 years of age. Then, the results of the descriptive statistics reported that the sample had never been victims of bullying, but had rarely experienced suicidal ideas. And, in the analyzes of the hypothesis tests, it was observed that bullying in general and all its dimensions (restriction of communication, exclusion and social blocking, contempt and ridicule, verbal harassment, coercion, theft, aggression, intimidation and threats) were related positively and significantly with suicidal ideation; thus confirming all the alternative hypotheses
