Infecciones urinarias y perfil de resistencia en gestantes atendidas en el laboratorio Rocalab, San Martin de Porres, 2023

Abstract

Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de infecciones de vías urinarias y perfil de resistencia antibiótica, en gestantes atendidas en el Laboratorio Rocalab de San Martín de Porres, 2023. Materiales y métodos: Tipo descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo, con una muestra de 90 gestantes. Para el diagnóstico de infección urinaria, se empleó el sedimento de orina, cultivo de orina y antibiograma. Resultados: Se encontró una prevalencia del 55.6% de infección urinaria en gestantes. El 60.3% de los casos correspondió a mujeres entre 18 y 35 años (p=0.165), y el tercer trimestre fue el periodo más afectado con un 100% de los casos (p=0.008). El 72.6% de las pacientes con infección urinaria presentó leucocituria significativa (≥5 leucocitos/campo) (p<0.001). Escherichia coli fue el patógeno más frecuente (42%), seguido por Proteus mirabilis (16%) y Enterobacter spp. (14%). Se identificó alta resistencia de Escherichia. coli a Amoxicilina (80%) y Ácido Nalidíxico (75%), mientras que antibióticos como Gentamicina y Amikacina mostraron baja resistencia (14%). Conclusión: Existe alta prevalencia de infección de urinaria y resistencia antibiótica en gestantes.

Objective: to determine the prevalence of urinary tract infections and antibiotic resistance profile in pregnant women treated at the Rocalab Laboratory in San Martín de Porres, 2023. Materials and methods: The study was descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional, with a sample of 90 pregnant women who met the selection criteria. For the diagnosis of urinary infection, urine sediment, urine culture and antibiogram were used. Results: A prevalence of 55.6% of urinary infection in pregnant women was found. 60.3% of the cases corresponded to women between 18 and 35 years old (p=0.165), and the third trimester was the most affected period with 100% of the cases (p=0.008). Urinary infection presented significant leukocyturia (≥5 leukocytes/field) (p<0.001). Escherichia coli was the most common pathogen (42%), followed by Proteus mirabilis (16%) and Enterobacter spp. (14%). High resistance of Escherichia was identified. coli to Amoxicillin (80%) and Nalidixic Acid (75%), while antibiotics such as Gentamicin and Amikacin showed low resistance (14%). Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a high prevalence of urinary infection and high antibiotic resistance in pregnant women.
