Efectos de la terapia manual sobre dolor y funcionalidad del hombro en trabajadores con tendinitis del supraespinoso, Lima 2025

Abstract

Introducción: La tendinopatía del supraespinoso es la forma más frecuente de afectación del manguito rotador y un motivo relevante de dolor y limitación funcional del hombro en población trabajadora. En entornos industriales con tareas repetitivas y actividades por encima del hombro, persisten brechas sobre la efectividad de intervenciones fisioterapéuticas aplicables en planta, especialmente en el contexto local. Objetivo: Determinar los efectos de terapia manual sobre dolor y funcionalidad del hombro en trabajadores con tendinitis del supraespinoso, Lima 2025. Material y métodos: Estudio cuasi-experimental, longitudinal y prospectivo con dos grupos paralelos y mediciones pre y post intervención (12 sesiones en 4 semanas). El grupo experimental recibirá terapia manual + ejercicio terapéutico progresivo; el grupo control, terapia convencional (compresas húmedas calientes y TENS analgésico) y educación breve, sin terapia manual ni fortalecimiento. Los desenlaces primarios serán DASH (funcionalidad; 0–100) y EVA 0–10 (dolor con actividad), aplicados en T0 y T1 por evaluador enmascarado. El muestreo será no probabilístico por conveniencia. El análisis (SPSS v28) incluirá estadística descriptiva y contraste de A = T1–T0. Se considerará p < 0,05 como resultado significativo. Se cumplirá normativa ética.

Introduction: Supraspinatus tendinopathy is the most common form of rotator cuff involvement and a significant cause of shoulder pain and functional limitations in the working population. In industrial settings with repetitive tasks and overhead activities, gaps persist regarding the effectiveness of plant-based physiotherapy interventions, especially in the local context. Objective: To determine the effects of manual therapy on shoulder pain and functionality in workers with supraspinatus tendinitis, Lima 2025. Material and methods: A quasi-experimental, longitudinal, and prospective study with two parallel groups and pre- and post-intervention measurements (12 sessions over 4 weeks). The experimental group will receive manual therapy + progressive therapeutic exercise; the control group will receive conventional therapy (warm, moist compresses and analgesic TENS) and brief education, without manual therapy or strengthening. The primary outcomes will be the DASH (functionality; 0–100) and VAS 0–10 (pain with activity), administered at T0 and T1 by a masked evaluator. Non-probability convenience sampling will be used. The analysis (SPSS v28) will include descriptive statistics and a A = T1–T0 test. A p < 0.05 result will be considered significant. Ethical regulations will be followed.
