Revisión crítica: efecto de la suplementación con probióticos en los niveles de indoxil sulfato de adultos con enfermedad renal crónica

Abstract

La enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) es aún, un problema para la salud que está creciendo globalmente y estudios indican que el consumo de probióticos tiene un efecto en los niveles de indoxil sulfato en pacientes con ERC. En esta investigación como revisión crítica: Efecto De La Suplementación Con Probióticos En Los Niveles De Indoxil Sulfato De Adultos Con Enfermedad Renal Crónica, tuvo como finalidad identificar artículos de investigación que puedan responder la pregunta clínica: ¿Cuál es el efecto de la suplementación con probióticos en los niveles del indoxil sulfato de adultos con ERC? Para ello usamos el método de Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE). Donde la búsqueda de información se realizó en WILEY, COCHRANE, SCIENCE DIRECT, PUBMED, DIALNET, SPRINGER LINK, escogiendo 33 artículos, de ellos, 10 leídos para evaluarse por el instrumento para lectura crítica CASPE, seleccionando de esta manera el Metanálisis y Revisión sistemática titulado como “Efficacy of probiotics/synbiotics supplementation in patients with chronic kidney disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized”, el cual tiene un nivel de certeza A II y un Grado de Referencia “Fuerte”. Este comentario crítico, enfatizó concluyendo que existen pruebas limitadas para establecer conclusiones definitivas, debido a que los probióticos no tienen un impacto significativo en los niveles de indoxil sulfato en pacientes con ERC.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is still a growing global health problem, and studies indicate that probiotic consumption has an impact on indoxyl sulfate levels in CKD patients. This critical review, "Effect of Probiotic Supplementation on Indoxyl Sulfate Levels in Adults with Chronic Kidney Disease," aimed to identify research articles that could answer the clinical question: What is the effect of probiotic supplementation on indoxyl sulfate levels in adults with CKD? To do so, we used the Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) approach. Where the information search was carried out in WILEY, COCHRANE, SCIENCE DIRECT, PUBMED, DIALNET, SPRINGER LINK, choosing 33 articles, of which 10 were chosen to be evaluated by the critical reading instrument CASPE, thus selecting the Meta-analysis and Systematic Review entitled "Efficacy of probiotics / synbiotics supplementation in patients with chronic kidney disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized", which has a level of certainty A II and a Reference Grade "Strong". This critical commentary emphasized concluding that there is limited evidence to establish definitive conclusions, because probiotics do not have a significant impact on indoxyl sulfate levels in patients with CKD.
