Evaluación del funcionamiento del sistema de distribución de medicamentos por dosis unitaria, en el servicio de farmacia del Hospital de Huaycán, setiembre 2017–febrero 2018

Abstract

The present research aimed to evaluate the functioning of the Unit Dose Drug Distribution System (UDDDS) in the Pharmacy Service of Huaycán Hospital during the period September 2017 to February 2018. An observational, descriptive, and retrospective study was conducted, which included patients within the aforementioned period. Clinical records, pharmacotherapeutic follow-up logs, reports of dispensing errors within the UDDDS, reports of adverse drug reactions, records of drug returns, and statistical sources were reviewed. The number of patients under pharmacotherapeutic follow-up was identified, with the highest percentage recorded in September 2017 (3.7%). The determination of suspected adverse drug reactions showed the highest incidence (86.7%) in December 2017. The number of dispensing errors recorded was 0.96% during September, where most involved only one error per prescription detected by the UDDDS. Furthermore, 9.22% of patients under pharmacotherapeutic follow-up presented drug-related problems. During the study period, a cost saving of 5.37% was observed. It was concluded that the evaluation of the study population demonstrated reliability and completeness, making it possible to assess the functioning of the UDDDS.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar el Funcionamiento del Sistema de Distribución de Medicamentos por Dosis Unitaria, en el Servicio de Farmacia del Hospital de Huaycán, periodo Setiembre 2017 - Febrero 2018. Se realizó un estudio tipo de observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo en el que se incluyó a pacientes en el periodo comprendido entre Setiembre 2017 – Febrero 2018, se revisó la historia clínica, registro de seguimiento farmacoterapéutico, reportes de errores de dispensación en el SDMDU, reportes de RAM, de devolución de medicamentos y fuentes estadísticas. Se identificó el número de pacientes con seguimiento farmacoterapéutico prevaleciendo que el mayor porcentaje se presentó en Setiembre 2017 (3,7%), se realizó la determinación de sospechas de reacciones adversas de medicamentos con mayor incidencia (86,7%) en diciembre 2017, el número de errores presentados fue de (0,96%) durante el mes de Setiembre, donde la mayoría solo presento un error por receta detectado por el SDMDU, un (9,22%) de pacientes con SFT presentaron PRM. Mientras que el porcentaje de ahorro durante el periodo de estudio fue (5,37%). Se concluyó que la evaluación de la población de estudio tuvo veracidad e integridad, y fue posible realizar la evaluación del funcionamiento del SDMDU.
