Conocimiento de autocuidado y calidad de vida en pacientes con cáncer de mama del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, 2025

Abstract

Este estudio busca entender cómo el conocimiento que tienen las mujeres con cáncer de mama sobre cómo cuidarse a sí mismas influye en su calidad de vida. Para hacerlo, se analizará a un grupo de 361 pacientes del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN). Se utilizarán dos cuestionarios: uno para medir qué tanto saben estas mujeres sobre el autocuidado y el WHOQOLBREF, estructurado con escala Likert diseñado por la OMS para evaluar su calidad de vida en general. Ambos instrumentos han sido debidamente validados y presentan altos coeficientes de fiabilidad, que garantiza su adecuado uso en la investigación. En cuanto al análisis de datos, se empleará el Coeficiente de correlación de Pearson o Spearman, según la naturaleza de las variables, a efectos de analizar su relación.

This study seeks to understand how the knowledge that women with breast cancer have about how to take care of themselves influences their quality of life. To do so, a group of 361 patients from the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN) will be analyzed. Two questionnaires will be used: one to measure how much these women know about self-care and the WHOQOLBREF, structured with a Likert scale designed by the WHO to evaluate their quality of life in general. Both instruments have been duly validated and have high reliability coefficients, which guarantees their adequate use in the research. As for data analysis, the Pearson or Spearman correlation coefficient will be used, depending on the nature of the variables, in order to analyze their relationship.
