Inteligencia emocional y engagement académico en estudiantes de enfermería en una universidad privada de Lima, 2024

Abstract

El bienestar y compromiso de los estudiantes en los entornos académicos están íntimamente ligados al papel que desempeñan las emociones. De modo que esta investigación tuvo como objetivo: establecer la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y engagement académico en estudiantes de enfermería en una universidad privada de Lima,2024. Material y método: El estudio utilizó el método hipotético deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental transversal y nivel descriptivo correlacional, la muestra estuvo conformada por 124 estudiantes de enfermería. Para la recolección de la información, se empleó dos instrumentos debidamente validados uno de ellos denominado cuestionario TMMS-24 y para medir el engagement académico el Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Resultados: Se encontró alta correlación positiva entre las variables inteligencia emocional y engagement académico con un Rho de Spearman = 0.466**; también se encontró la existencia de correlación moderada y directa entre las dimensiones de la primera variable con el engagement académico, Se concluye que existe una relación significativa entre la inteligencia emocional y engagement académico.

The well-being and engagement of students in academic environments is closely linked to the role that emotions play. So, this research had the objective: to establish the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic engagement of nursing students at a private university in Lima, 2024. Material and method: The study used the hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental cross-sectional design and correlational descriptive level, the sample was made up of 124 nursing students. To collect the information, two duly validated instruments were used, one of them called the TMMS Questionnaire 24 and to measure academic engagement the Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Results: A high positive correlation was found between the variables emotional intelligence and academic engagement with a Spearman's Rho = 0.466**; The existence of a moderate and direct correlation was also found between the dimensions of the first variable with academic engagement. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and academic engagement.
