La infografía y la comprensión de los contenidos temáticos en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Lima Metropolitana, 2023

Abstract

Una población de profesionales altamente competitivos depende de una educación superior de calidad. Se requiere constante innovación y mejoras continuas. Dichos cambios y mejoras dependen en gran parte de los maestros, quienes cumplen un rol clave facilitando el aprendizaje a través de diversas herramientas (Escribano, 2018) Entre las más efectivas están aquellas que utilizan elementos visuales, puesto que presentan conceptos de una manera objetiva, clara y accesible; estimulan el interés, la motivación del estudiante, facilitan la capacidad de atención y contribuyen a retener las ideas por más tiempo (Suárez, 2020; Nediger, 2020). En la búsqueda de una herramienta adecuada para el aprendizaje del estudiante se encontró a la infografía, expuesto por diversos estudios tanto internacionales como nacionales, que avalan su importancia en diferentes áreas, sin embargo, aún son necesarios estudios que lo respalden en la educación superior. Ante este contexto, la presente investigación planteó como objetivo determinar si existe relación entre el uso de la infografía y la comprensión de los contenidos temáticos en estudiantes de educación superior, para el logro de este propósito la investigación fué aplicada, con diseño no experimental de enfoque cuantitativo y alcance correlacional; la muestra será censal, la cual estuvo conformada por 80 estudiantes de la Escuela de Postgrado de una universidad privada de Lima, la técnica a emplear fué la encuesta y como instrumentos se aplicaron dos cuestionarios que permitirán determinar la relación que existen entre el uso de la infografía y el nivel de comprensión de contenidos. En relación a los resultados de la hipótesis general, se obtuvo un p < 0,001 (< 0,05) y un Rho= 0,745 con lo cual queda determinado que la relación entre el uso de la infografía y la comprensión de los contenidos temáticos en estudiantes de educación superior en una Universidad Privada de Lima Metropolitana, 2023 es significativa, directa y de nivel considerable. Con ello se concluye que cuanto más alta es la experiencia con el uso de la infografía, la sensación de comprensión de los contenidos temático será adecuada en los estudiantes que participaron del estudio.

A highly competitive population will depend on a quality education, with higher education being especially considered when we talk about highly competitive professionals. For this, constant innovation and the search for continuous improvements are required, as well as solutions to the obstacles that may arise in the educational system. These changes and improvements, of course, not only depend on the institution but also on its pillars, which are the teachers, who play a key role facilitating student learning, as well as constantly learning and searching for new and better tools to teaching (Scribe, 2018). Among the most effective learning and understanding tools are those that use visual elements such as mind maps, infographics, flowcharts, among others, since they help present concepts in an objective, clear, and accessible way. In addition, they stimulate the interest and motivation of the student, facilitate the attention span and help to retain ideas for longer through images, and their more entertaining visualization. (Suárez, 2020; Nediger, 2020). In the search for an adequate tool for student learning, Infographics was found to be the most appropriate technique, exposed by various international and national studies, which support its importance in different areas, since they are excellent to help process and understand the information visually, however, studies are still needed to support it in the field of higher education. For this reason, the objective of this research is to determine if exist relationship between the use of infographics and the understanding of thematic contents in higher education students, to achieve this purpose the research will be applied, with a non-experimental design of quantitative approach and correlational scope; the sample will be census and will be made up of 80 students from the Postgraduate School of a private university in Lima, Peru; The technique to be used will be the survey and two questionnaires will be applied as instruments that will determine the relationship between the use of infographics and the level of content comprehension. In relation to the results of the general hypothesis, a p< 0,001(<0.05) and a Rho= 0.745 were obtained, with which it is determined that the relationship between the use of infographics and the understanding of thematic contents in students of higher education in a Private University of Metropolitan Lima, 2023 is significant, direct and of a considerable level. With this, it is concluded that the higher the experience with the use of infographics, the feeling of understanding of the thematic contents will be adequate in the students who participated in the study.
