Características clínicas y epidemiológicas en pacientes con diagnóstico COVID-19 del centro de emergencias San Pedro del distrito Chorillos, Lima Metropolitana, 2021

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between clinical and epidemiological characteristics in patients with a COVID-19 diagnosis at the San Pedro Emergency Center in the Chorrillos district. Method: This study used a quantitative approach, with an applied type, a non-experimental design, and a correlational level. The population was composed of 214 epidemiological forms from patients with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, and a sample of 179 forms was considered. The instruments used were epidemiological and laboratory forms that were adapted for the research. For statistical analysis, SPSS Version 25.0 and the Chi-squared test of independence were used at a 5% significance level. Results: In the analysis of the relationship between clinical and epidemiological characteristics, the p-value (p = 0.013) was found to be less than 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. At a 95% confidence level, it is concluded that a relationship exists between the clinical and epidemiological characteristics in patients with a COVID-19 diagnosis at the San Pedro Emergency Center in the Chorrillos District, Metropolitan Lima, from February to July 2021.

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo: Determinar la relación entre las características clínicas y las características epidemiológicas en pacientes con diagnóstico covid-19 del centro de Emergencias San Pedro del distrito Chorrillos. Método: Este estudio utilizo un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental y nivel correlacional. Tuvo una población de 214 Fichas Epidemiológicas de pacientes con diagnóstico positivo a COVID-19 y se consideró una muestra de 179 de las fichas referidas. Para el instrumento se utilizó las fichas epidemiológicas y las fichas de laboratorio que fueron adaptadas al trabajo de investigación. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el programa SPSS Versión 25.0 y la prueba de independencia Chi cuadrado a un nivel de significancia del 5%. Resultado: en cuanto al análisis de relación entre las características clínicas y epidemiológicas se halló que el p-valor de significancia (p= 0,013) es menor que 0,05, por lo tanto, se rechaza la hipótesis nula y se acepta la hipótesis alternativa. Al 95% de confianza, se concluye que existe relación entre las características clínicas con las características epidemiológicas en pacientes con diagnóstico COVID-19 del Centro de Emergencias San Pedro Distrito Chorrillos-Lima Metropolitana, periodo Febrero Julio 2021.
