Síndrome de Burnout y desempeño laboral del personal de enfermería en el área de centro quirúrgico de un hospital nacional del Callao, 2023

Abstract

Objetivo: Fue determinar cómo el síndrome de burnout se relaciona con el desempeño laboral del personal de enfermería. Materiales y método: Se aplicó el método hipotético-deductivo, investigación de tipo aplicada con diseño no experimental y enfoque cuantitativo. La población comprendió a 80 trabajadores de enfermería y la muestra fue seleccionada de manera no probabilística por conveniencia que consistió en 70 participantes. Los instrumentos utilizados incluyeron cuestionarios de preguntas cerradas y las pruebas estandarizadas MBI-HSS e IWQP. Resultados: Destaca una prevalencia significativa de síndrome de burnout con un 42,9% en el nivel alto, un 35,7% en el nivel medio y un 21,4% en el nivel bajo. Respecto al desempeño laboral, el 42,9% indicó un nivel regular, seguido por un 35,7% en el nivel bajo y un 21,4% en el nivel alto. Conclusión: En concordancia con el objetivo del estudio, los resultados respaldan la hipótesis general, concluyendo que la correlación entre el síndrome de burnout y el desempeño laboral fue significativa (Sig. = 0,000, Rho = -0,781), con una relación inversa y considerable. Por lo tanto, existe relación significativa entre el síndrome de burnout y el desempeño del personal de enfermería de un hospital nacional del Callao.

Objective: The present study focuses on determining how burnout syndrome is related to the work performance of nursing staff. Materials and methods: A hypothetico-deductive methodology of the applied type was applied, with a non-experimental design and a quantitative approach. The population comprised 80 nursing staff, and the sample, selected non-probabilistically by convenience, consisted of 70 participants. The instruments used included surveys, closed-ended questionnaires and the standardised MBI-HSS and IWQP tests. Results: The results highlight a significant prevalence of burnout syndrome, with 42,9% at the high level, 35,7% at the medium level and 21,4% at the low level. Regarding job performance, 42,9% indicated a fair level, followed by 35,7% at the low level and 21,4% at the high level. Conclusions: In accordance with the aim of the study, the results support the general hypothesis, concluding that the correlation between burnout syndrome and job performance was significant (Sig. = 0,000, Rho = -0,781), with an inverse and considerable relationship. Therefore, there is a significant relationship between burnout syndrome and the performance of nursing staff in a national hospital in Callao.
