Relación entre el periodo de lactancia materna y maloclusiones en niños de 6 a 9 años del colegio Mártir José Olaya, año 2023

Abstract

Tiene como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre el periodo de lactancia materna y maloclusiones en niños de 6 a 9 años del Colegio Mártir José Olaya, año 2023. Se realizó un estudio de método hipotético - deductivo, de un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básica, diseño observacional (no experimental), transversal y correlacional. Estuvo conformada por una muestra de 150 niños de 6 a 9 años del Colegio Mártir José Olaya, que se evaluaron clínicamente y se encuestaron a las madres de familia. Los resultados mostraron que la mayoría de los niños no presentaron maloclusiones respecto al tiempo de lactancia en un 86.7%, los que presentaron mordida abierta anterior tuvieron un tiempo de lactancia materna de 0 a 3 meses en un porcentaje de 2.7% (N°=4), mientras el sexo masculino los que presentaron mordida cruzada anterior tuvieron de un tiempo de lactancia 0 a 3 meses en un 4.3% y los niños de 6 a 7 años presentaron mordida abierta anterior los que recibieron lactancia de 0 a 3 meses un 2.7%. Concluyendo, que no existe relación significativa entre el periodo de lactancia materna y maloclusiones en niños de 6 a 9 años.

Its main objective is to determine the relationship between the period of breastfeeding and malocclusions in children from 6 to 9 years old of the Colegio Mártir José Olaya, year 2023. A hypothetical-deductive method study was carried out, with a quantitative approach, basic type, observational design (non-experimental), cross-sectional and correlational. It consisted of a sample of 150 children from 6 to 9 years of age from the Colegio Mártir José Olaya, who were clinically evaluated and mothers were surveyed. The results showed that the majority of the children did not present malocclusions with respect to the time of breastfeeding in 86.7%, those who presented anterior open bite had a time of breastfeeding from 0 to 3 months in a percentage of 2.7% (N°=4), while the male sex those who presented anterior cross bite had a time of breastfeeding from 0 to 3 months in 4.3% and the children from 6 to 7 years old presented anterior open bite those who received breastfeeding from 0 to 3 months in 2.7%. We conclude that there is no significant relationship between the period of breastfeeding and malocclusion in children 6 to 9 years of age.
