Revisión crítica: suplementación de omega-3 y/o vitamina d para mejorar los marcadores inflamatorios y/o el estado nutricional en pacientes adultos con cáncer colorrectal

Abstract

La intervención nutricional es el conjunto medidas sanitarias que tienen como objetivo mejorar la situación patológica del paciente. La presente investigación secundaria titulada como revisión crítica: Suplementación de omega-3 y/o vitamina d para mejorar los marcadores inflamatorios y el estado nutricional en pacientes con cáncer colorrectal, tuvo como objetivo identificar los beneficios de la suplementación tanto dietética como suplementaria de ácido graso Omega 3 y vitamina D en base a la respuesta que estos mostraran en el manejo del cáncer colorrectal. La pregunta clínica fue: ¿La suplementación de Omega 3 y/o Vitamina D (dieta y suplementos) mejoran el estado metabólico (marcadores inflamatorios, caquexia, Albúmina, IMC) y el estado nutricional (Peso, IMC, % de Masa Magra) en pacientes adultos con cáncer colorrectal? Se utilizó la metodología Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE). La búsqueda de información se realizó en PUBMED, SCIELO, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT,NATURE, Redalyc, encontrando 11 artículos, siendo seleccionados que han sido evaluados por la herramienta para lectura crítica CASPE, seleccionándose finalmente el Ensayo Clínico Aleatorizado titulado como Randomized Study of the Effect of Vitamin D and Omega-3 Fatty Acids Cosupplementation as Adjuvant Chemotherapy on Inflammation and Nutritional Status in Colorectal Cancer Patients el cual posee un nivel de evidencia 1 y Grado de Recomendación FUERTE, de acuerdo a la expertise del investigador. El comentario crítico permitió concluir que la suplementación en conjunto de Vitamina D y omega 3 mejora la calidad de vida del paciente teniendo efectos beneficiosos sobre los marcadores inflamatorios y el estado nutricional.

Nutritional intervention is the set of health measures aimed at improving the pathological situation of the patient. The present secondary research entitled as a critical review: Supplementation of omega-3 and/or vitamin D to improve inflammatory and/or nutritional markers in patients with colorectal cancer, aimed to identify the benefits of both dietary and supplemental omega-3 fatty acid supplementation based on the response they show. The clinical question was: Will omega-3 and/or vitamin D supplementation (diet and supplements) improve inflammatory markers and nutritional status in adult patients with colorectal cancer? The Nutrition Based on Evidence (NuBE) methodology was used. The search for information was carried out in PUBMED, SCIELO, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, NATURE, Redalyc, finding 11 articles, being selected that have been evaluated by the tool for critical reading CASPE, finally selecting the Randomized Clinical Trial entitled Randomized Study of the Effect of Vitamin D and Omega-3 Fatty Acids Cosupplementation as Adjuvant Chemotherapy on Inflammation and Nutritional Status in Colorectal Cancer Patients which has a level of evidence 1 and a STRONG Grade of Recommendation, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical commentary allowed concluding that the joint supplementation of Vitamin D and omega 3 improves the patient's quality of life having beneficial effects on inflammatory markers and nutritional status.
