Introduction: Adolescence is a period of significant biological, emotional, and social change that can affect psychological well-being. In this context, the family plays a crucial role by providing support, guidance, and conditions that either promote or jeopardize mental health in adolescents. General Objective: “To determine the relationship between mental health and family functioning in adolescents”. Materials and Methods: This study employed a hypothetical-deductive method and a quantitative approach. It was an applied research project with a non-experimental, cross sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of 120 adolescents from a public educational institution, and since the population was finite, a sample was not calculated. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, allowing for the measurement and statistical analysis of the variables of mental health and family functioning. Inferential statistical methods, specifically correlation tests, were used to establish the relationship between these variables and test the hypothesis.
