Access to drinking water is a problem that governments around the world have tried to solve for their communities, as it is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. Added to this problem is the fact that there are rivers, streams, springs, and wells with levels of metal contamination that make them unfit for drinking and/or use due to their toxicity to the body. Thus, the objective of the study was to “determine the level of toxicological risk from the consumption of groundwater containing heavy metals and its association with carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic effects in the population of Carabayllo - Lima in 2025.” The study was basic, quantitative, hypothetical-deductive, nonexperimental, and relational in scope. The sample consisted of 215 people and 15 samples from water wells in the area. It was found that the levels of arsenic (< 0.008 mg L-1), cadmium (< 0.0005 mg L-1), and lead (< 0.006 mg L-1) did not exceed the established limits. It was also found that the toxicological risk from consuming groundwater containing heavy metals was not related to carcinogenic (Sig.= 0.235) or non-carcinogenic (Sig.= 0.745) effects. It was concluded that the level of toxicological risk from consuming groundwater containing heavy metals was not statistically associated with carcinogenic (X2 < 0.478) or non-carcinogenic (X2 < 0.590) effects in the population of Carabayllo in 2025.en_US
