La fragilidad y su relación con la tolerancia al ejercicio en pacientes adultos mayores del Centro Soliana - Lima, 2024

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar la relación que existe entre la fragilidad y la tolerancia al ejercicio en los pacientes adultos mayores atendidos en el Centro SOLIANA Lima – 2024. Material y métodos: Tipo de investigación: básica de alcance hipotético – deductivo; diseño no experimental, explicativo y transversal; de enfoque cuantitativo; la población estuvo conformada por 80 adultos mayores. Para la recolección de los datos se utilizaron dos formularios, la escala FRAIL y el cuestionario IPAQ (versión corta). Además, se utilizó una ficha para recolectar los datos sociodemográficos, los cuales fueron procesados mediante validez y confiabilidad con el coeficiente de alfa de Cronbach. Resultados: Respecto a la fragilidad se evidencio que el 37.5% se encuentra en el grupo robusto, 47.5% pre frágil y 12.0% con fragilidad, mientras que, en la tolerancia al ejercicio, se obtuvo que 10.0% tuvo una tolerancia alta, 27.5% moderada y 62.5% tolerancia baja. Asimismo, el tratamiento estadístico se realizó mediante el coeficiente de Spearman en donde se obtuvo el resultado de -.435 y un nivel de significancia inferior a p<0 05 (p=<0.000), dando como resultado que existe una relación entre la fragilidad y la tolerancia al ejercicio. Conclusión: Se concluye que existe una relación representativa entre la fragilidad y la tolerancia al ejercicio en los pacientes adultos mayores.

The objective of this research was to identify the relationship between frailty and exercise tolerance in older adult patients treated at the SOLIANA Lima Center - 2024. Material and methods: Type of research: basic, hypothetical-deductive in scope; non experimental, explanatory and cross-sectional design; quantitative approach; the population consisted of 80 older adults. Two forms were used to collect the data, the FRAIL scale and the IPAQ questionnaire (short version). In addition, a form was used to collect sociodemographic data, which were processed through validity and reliability with the Cronbach alpha coefficient. Results: Regarding frailty, it was found that 37.5% were in the robust group, 47.5% pre-frail and 12.0% with frailty, while in exercise tolerance, it was found that 10.0% had high tolerance, 27.5% moderate and 62.5% low tolerance. Likewise, the statistical treatment was carried out using the Spearman coefficient where the result of -.435 and a significance level lower than p < 0 05 (p = < 0.000) was obtained, resulting in a relationship between frailty and exercise tolerance. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a representative relationship between frailty and exercise tolerance in older adult patients.
