Fracción de plaquetas inmaduras y trombocitopenia en pacientes HIV positivos Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, 2024

Abstract

La trombocitopenia es la segunda complicación hematológica más frecuente asociada a infección por virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana, donde se postula que existe un incremento de plaquetas destruidas debido a presencia de anticuerpos anti plaquetarios o por la infección directa de los megacariocitos por el virus disminuyendo su producción. El IPF% es un parámetro hematológico de gran utilidad en el diagnóstico de trombocitopenias y se expresa como el cociente entre el recuento de plaquetas inmaduras y el recuento total de plaquetas. En nuestro país, se ha reportado 1 130 nuevos casos de pacientes HIV positivos de enero a abril 2025; actualmente no se encuentran estudios sobre este tema y dada la magnitud de esta enfermedad, es importante contar con marcadores que ayuden al diagnóstico o seguimiento de la trombocitopenia causada por el HIV. OBJETIVO: Conocer la relación entre fracción de plaquetas inmaduras y presencia de trombocitopenia en paciente HIV positivos HNCH, 2024. METODOLOGIA: investigación básica, cuantitativa, con diseño no experimental: retrospectivo, transversal, correlacional con muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en el software estadístico STATA 14.

Thrombocytopenia is the second most frequent hematological complication associated with human immunodeficiency virus infection, where it is postulated that there is an increase in platelet destruction due to the presence of antiplatelet antibodies or direct infection of megakaryocytes by the virus, decreasing their production. The IPF% is a highly useful hematological parameter in the diagnosis of thrombocytopenia and is expressed as the ratio between the immature platelet count and the total platelet count. In our country, 1,130 new cases of HIV-positive patients have been reported from January to April 2025; currently, there are no studies on this topic, and given the magnitude of this disease, it is important to have markers that help in the diagnosis or monitoring of thrombocytopenia caused by HIV. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between immature platelet fraction and the presence of thrombocytopenia in HIV-positive patients at HNCH, 2024. METHODOLOGY: Basic, quantitative research with a non-experimental, retrospective, cross-sectional, correlational design using simple random probability sampling. The collected data will be processed using the statistical software STATA 14.
