Abstract

Objective: "Analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to iron supplement consumption in pregnant women attended at the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho." The methodology corresponded to the hypothetical-deductive type, with a quantitative approach, observational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design. The technique used was a survey, and the instrument was a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze data from the variables, while inferential statistics were applied to determine the correlation between variables using SPSS v26. Results: A low level of knowledge was identified in 50.8% of respondents, and partial adherence was observed in 88.7%. Inferential testing confirmed a significant relationship (ρ Spearman = 0.729, p-0.028) between the level of knowledge and adherence to iron supplement consumption in pregnant women at the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho. The dimensions of knowledge (ρ Spearman = 0.687, p-0.043), importance (ρ Spearman = 0.716, p-value 0.034), and correct use (ρ Spearman = 0.782; p-0.038) were directly and significantly related to adherence in pregnant women at the hospital. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to iron supplement consumption in pregnant women

Objetivo: “Analizar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y adherencia respecto al consumo de suplemento de hierro en gestantes atendidos en el Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho”. La metodología correspondió al tipo hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño observacional, no experimental, transversal; la técnica empleada fue la encuesta y el instrumento utilizado el cuestionario, considerando estadísticos descriptivos para el análisis de la data proveniente de las variables, y la estadística inferencial para hallar la correlación entre variables fue analizada en el programa estadístico SPSS v26. Los resultados indican un nivel de conocimiento bajo 50,8% y un nivel de adherencia parcial 88,7%. La prueba inferencial confirma que el nivel de conocimiento se relaciona significativamente (ρ Spearman = 0,729, p-0,028), con la adherencia respecto al consumo de suplemento de hierro en gestantes atendidas en el Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho. Las dimensiones conocimiento (ρ Spearman = 0,687, p-0,043), importancia (ρ Spearman = 0,716, p-valor 0.034), uso correcto (ρ Spearman = 0,782; p-0,038), se relacionan directa y significativamente con la adherencia en gestantes atendidas en el Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho. Concluimos que existe relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y adherencia con respecto al consumo de suplemento de hierro en gestantes
