Tratamiento farmacológico y sus efectos adversos en la migraña en adultos que acuden a una botica del distrito de San Juan de Miraflores Lima, año 2024

Abstract

La migraña es una afección neurológica común que impacta significativamente la calidad de vida, siendo su tratamiento y los posibles efectos adversos un tema relevante en la atención farmacológica comunitaria. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar el tratamiento farmacológico y sus efectos adversos en adultos con migraña que acuden a una botica en San Juan de Miraflores, Lima – 2024. La investigación fue de tipo básica, con enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético-deductivo, diseño no experimental, de alcance correlacional y corte transversal. La población fue indefinida y la muestra estuvo conformada por 113 usuarios. Los resultados revelaron que el 38,1% utiliza ácido acetilsalicílico, mientras que sólo el 0,9% usa isonixina o metamizol, el 52,2% emplea el tratamiento a demanda y el 14,2% de forma diaria. El ibuprofeno fue el fármaco con más efectos adversos (39,8%) y las náuseas fueron el síntoma más reportado (32,7%), aunque también se indicaron ansiedad e hipertensión (0,9%). En cuanto a la gravedad, el 58,4% calificó los efectos como leves y el 11,5% como graves. El análisis estadístico mostró una relación significativa entre el tratamiento farmacológico y los efectos adversos (p=0,02; Rho=0,798), entre el tratamiento y el uso de analgésicos (p=0,001; Rho=0,820), y entre los medicamentos y síntomas gastrointestinales (p=0,002; Rho=0,886). Se concluye que el tratamiento farmacológico para la migraña en adultos que acuden a una botica en San Juan de Miraflores si está asociado a diversos efectos adversos.

Migraine is a common neurological condition that significantly affects quality of life, and its treatment and possible adverse effects are a relevant topic in community pharmaceutical care. The aim of this study was to identify the pharmacological treatment and its adverse effects in adults with migraine who attend a pharmacy in San Juan de Miraflores, Lima – 2024. The research was basic in type, with a quantitative approach, hypothetical-deductive method, non experimental design, correlational scope, and cross-sectional cut. The population was undefined, and the sample consisted of 113 users. The results showed that 38.1% use acetylsalicylic acid, while only 0.9% use isonixine or metamizole. A total of 52.2% use medication on demand and 14.2% use it daily. Ibuprofen was the drug with the most reported adverse effects (39.8%), and nausea was the most common symptom (32.7%), although isolated cases of anxiety and hypertension were also reported (0.9%). Regarding severity, 58.4% rated the adverse effects as mild and 11.5% as severe. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between pharmacological treatment and adverse effects (p=0.02; Rho=0.798), between treatment and the use of analgesics (p=0.001; Rho=0.820), and between medication and gastrointestinal symptoms (p=0.002; Rho=0.886). It is concluded that pharmacological treatment for migraine in adults attending a pharmacy in San Juan de Miraflores is associated with a variety of adverse effects.
