Conocimiento y prácticas preventivas de lesiones por presión aplicadas al cuidador del adulto mayor en el servicio de medicina-hospital Huacho, 2024

Abstract

El estudio académico denominado: “Conocimientos y prácticas preventivas de lesiones por presión aplicadas al cuidador del adulto mayor atendido en el servicio de medicina del Hospital de Huacho en el período 2024”, se plantea como objetivo principal: “determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y las prácticas preventivas de lesiones por presión aplicadas por el cuidador del adulto mayor”. El estudio se basará en el método hipotético-deductivo, con un alcance correlacional, enfoque cuantitativo y tipo aplicada. La población estará compuesta por 90 cuidadores de adultos mayores, a quienes se les aplicarán dos instrumentos confiables y validadas: para medir el conocimiento sobre la prevención de lesiones por presión en adultos mayores, se aplicará un cuestionario y para evaluar las practicas preventivas una guía de observación. Después de aplicar ambos instrumentos, se creará una base de datos en Excel que permitirá agregar las variables y sus dimensiones. Para el análisis de los datos se empleará el software estadístico SPSS versión 26.0, presentándose los resultados descriptivos en tablas de doble entrada, porcentajes y frecuencias; mientras que, tras realizar la prueba de normalidad, el análisis inferencial facilitará la selección de pruebas paramétricas o no paramétricas según los objetivos e hipótesis del estudio.

The academic study called: "Knowledge and preventive practices of pressure injuries applied to the caregiver of the elderly treated in the medicine service of the Huacho Hospital in the period 2024", the main objective is: "to determine the relationship between the knowledge and preventive practices of pressure injuries applied by the caregiver of the elderly." The study will be based on the hypothetical-deductive method, with a correlational scope, quantitative approach and applied type. The population will be made up of 90 caregivers of older adults, to whom two reliable and validated instruments will be applied: to measure knowledge about the prevention of pressure injuries in older adults, a questionnaire will be applied and to evaluate preventive practices, an observation guide will be applied. After applying both instruments, an Excel database will be created that will allow the variables and their dimensions to be added. SPSS statistical software version 26.0 will be used to analyze the data, presenting the descriptive results in double-entry tables, percentages and frequencies; while, after performing the normality test, the inferential analysis will facilitate the selection of parametric or non-parametric tests according to the objectives and hypotheses of the study.
