Capacidad funcional y calidad de vida en pacientes con síndrome femoropatelar en la Clínica Internacional, Lima 2024

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio es determinar la relación entre la capacidad funcional y la calidad de vida en pacientes con síndrome femoropatelar, atendidos en una clínica de rehabilitación en Lima durante el año 2024. Material y método: Se utilizó el “Cuestionario SF 36” para medir la calidad de vida y la “Escala WOMAC” para evaluar la capacidad funcional de los pacientes. La población estuvo conformada por 120 pacientes, seleccionándose una muestra de 80 personas. El estudio adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La data seleccionada fue procesada en el programa SPSS y se utilizó el coeficiente de “Rho de Spearman” para determinar la correlación entre las variables. Resultados: El 70% de los pacientes fueron de sexo femenino, y la mayoría tenía entre 31 y 50 años. El 38.75% de los pacientes presentó una capacidad funcional pobre, mientras que el 80% reportó una calidad de vida regular. Se encontró una correlación significativa entre las variables de capacidad funcional y la calidad de vida general (rho = 0.409), siendo más fuertes las correlaciones con la salud mental (rho = 0.956) y la vitalidad (rho = 0.874). Conclusión: Existe una relación significativa entre las variables de “capacidad funcional” y “calidad de vida” en pacientes con síndrome femoropatelar, con correlaciones especialmente fuertes en las dimensiones de salud mental y vitalidad.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between functional capacity and quality of life in patients with patellofemoral syndrome treated in a rehabilitation clinic in Lima during the year 2024. Material and method: The "SF-36 Questionnaire" was used to measure quality of life and the "WOMAC Scale" to evaluate patients' functional capacity. The population consisted of 120 patients, and a sample of 80 people was selected. The study adopted a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational approach. The selected data was processed in the SPSS program and “Spearman's Rho coefficient” was used to determine the correlation between the variables. Results: 70% of the patients were female, and most of them were between 31 and 50 years old. Of the patients, 38.75% had poor functional capacity, while 80% reported a fair quality of life. A significant correlation was found between the functional capacity variables and general quality of life (rho = 0.409), being stronger the correlations with mental health (rho = 0.956) and vitality (rho = 0.874). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between “functional capacity” and “quality of life” in patients with patellofemoral syndrome, with particularly strong correlations in the dimensions of mental health and vitality.
