Tiempo de almacenamiento del paquete globular y reacciones transfusionales en pacientes atendidos en el hospital amazónico de Yarinacocha – 2026

Abstract

La transfusión de paquete globular constituye una intervención terapéutica frecuente en el ámbito hospitalario; sin embargo, su almacenamiento prolongado podría influir en la aparición de reacciones transfusionales. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el tiempo de almacenamiento del paquete globular y las reacciones transfusionales en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Amazónico de Yarinacocha durante el año 2026. Se desarrollará una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivocorrelacional y diseño no experimental, observacional, prospectivo y transversal. La población estará conformada por pacientes que reciban transfusión de paquetes globulares y presenten alguna reacción transfusional durante el periodo de estudio. Se empleará un muestreo no probabilístico por juicio, incluyendo a quienes cumplan los criterios establecidos y otorguen consentimiento informado. Se registrarán los días de almacenamiento del componente transfundido, el tipo de reacción presentada y los resultados de pruebas complementarias, como el Coombs directo. El análisis estadístico permitirá describir las características observadas y evaluar la posible asociación entre las variables de interés. Los resultados contribuirán a fortalecer la seguridad transfusional y optimizar la gestión del uso de hemocomponentes en el contexto hospitalario.

Packed red blood cell transfusion is a frequent therapeutic intervention in the hospital setting; however, its prolonged storage could influence the occurrence of transfusion reactions. This study aims to determine the relationship between the storage time of packed red blood cells and transfusion reactions in patients treated at the Amazonian Hospital of Yarinacocha during 2026. A quantitative, descriptive-correlational, non-experimental, observational, prospective, and cross-sectional study will be conducted. The population will consist of patients who receive packed red blood cell transfusions and experience a transfusion reaction during the study period. A non-probability, purposive sampling method will be used, including those who meet the established criteria and provide informed consent. The days of storage of the transfused component, the type of reaction observed, and the results of complementary tests, such as the direct Coombs test, will be recorded. Statistical analysis will allow for the description of the observed characteristics and the evaluation of the possible association between the variables of interest. The results will contribute to strengthening transfusion safety and optimizing the management of blood component use in the hospital setting.
