Abstract

El Perú presenta la mayor incidencia de Tuberculosis Pulmonar, las herramientas diagnósticas tradicionales presentan limitaciones notables que dificultan una detección temprana y precisa aquí cobra relevancia el índice plaquetas/neutrófilos (RPN), un parámetro que puede obtenerse fácilmente de un hemograma completo, diversos estudios resaltan que tanto plaquetas como neutrófilos cumplen funciones claves en la respuesta inmunológica frente al Mycobacterium tuberculosis lo cual da sustento biológico a considerar el RPN como un posible marcador de TB activa.

Peru has the highest incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Traditional diagnostic tools have significant limitations that hinder early and accurate detection. Here, the platelet-to-neutrophil ratio (PNR) becomes relevant.

This parameter can be easily obtained from a complete blood count. Several studies highlight that both platelets and neutrophils play key roles in the immune response against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, providing biological support for considering the PNR as a possible marker of active TB.
