Factores predominantes en la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 atendidos en la farmacia de consultorios externos del Hospital Vitarte, Lima 2023

Abstract

This study focused on identifying the predominant factors influencing adherence to pharmacological treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated at the outpatient pharmacy of Vitarte Hospital in Lima during 2023. The research adopted a quantitative and descriptive approach. A total of 300 patients were surveyed, ensuring a 95% confidence level. The data obtained were entered and processed using Excel and SPSS software. Data reliability was assessed through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, yielding a solid value of α = 0.85, and the test-retest correlation, which indicated high stability with a value of r = 0.90. The results revealed that 30.0% of patients adhered strictly to treatment, while 70.0% showed lack of adherence, according to the Morisky Test. In addition, various dimensions related to treatment were analyzed, such as schedule, instructions for use, adverse reactions, and disease self-care, highlighting significant variability in adherence across these areas. In conclusion, aspects related to the health system were evaluated, including treatment accessibility, quality of care, and infrastructure, identifying predominant issues in accessibility (52.0%) and quality of care (52.0%). These findings highlight the need to address these predominant factors in order to improve adherence to pharmacological treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Este estudio se centró en identificar los factores predominantes que influyen en la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 atendidos en la farmacia de consultorios externos del Hospital Vitarte en Lima durante el año 2023. La investigación adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo y descriptivo. Se encuestó a 300 pacientes, asegurando un nivel de confianza del 95%. Los datos obtenidos fueron ingresados y procesados por el programa Excel y por el software SPSS, se evaluó la confiabilidad de los datos mediante el coeficiente alfa de Cronbach, obteniendo un valor sólido de α=0.85, y la correlación test-retest, que indicó una alta estabilidad con un valor de r=0.90. Los resultados revelaron que el 30.0% de los pacientes se adhiere rigurosamente al tratamiento, mientras que el 70.0% muestra falta de adherencia, según el Test de Morisky. Además, se analizaron diversas dimensiones relacionadas con el tratamiento, como horario, instrucciones de uso, reacciones adversas y autocuidado de la enfermedad, destacando variabilidades significativas en la adherencia a estas áreas. En conclusión, se evaluaron aspectos vinculados al sistema de salud, como la accesibilidad al tratamiento, calidad de atención e infraestructura, identificando problemas predominantes en la accesibilidad (52.0%) y calidad de atención (52.0%). Estos hallazgos resaltan la necesidad de abordar estos factores predominantes para mejorar la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2.
