Relación entre el fenotipo periodontal y las recesiones gingivales en pacientes ortodónticos de la clínica dental Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, Lima 2024

Abstract

La investigación tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre el fenotipo periodontal y las recesiones gingivales en pacientes ortodónticos de la clínica dental Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre. La metodología de la investigación fue correlacional y transversal, en donde participaron 89 sujetos, donde se utilizó la técnica para la recopilación de datos descrita como la observación directa para establecer la medición y clasificación de ambas variables y su registro en la ficha de recolección de datos. Los resultados fueron que el fenotipo periodontal más frecuente en los pacientes evaluados según su grupo etario fue grueso en los del 16 – 26 años (72.5%) y delgado tanto en el grupo de 27 – 37 años (48.6%) y 38 - 49 años (50%); el tipo de recesión más frecuente en los pacientes evaluados según su grupo etario fue tipo I en el grupo de 16 - 26 años (30%) y tipo II en los otros grupos etarios con un 40% y 14.3% respectivamente, el análisis inferencial según la prueba χ2 de Pearson mostro un p = 0.000 ˂ 0.05. Con lo que se concluye que existe relación significativa entre el fenotipo periodontal y las recesiones gingivales en pacientes ortodónticos atendidos en la clínica dental.

The main objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the periodontal phenotype and gingival recessions in orthodontic patients at the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre dental clinic. The research methodology was correlational and cross-sectional, with the participation of 89 subjects. The technique for data collection described as direct observation was used to establish the measurement and classification of both variables and their registration in the data collection form. The results were that the most frequent periodontal phenotype in the patients evaluated according to their age group was thick in those aged 16 - 26 years (72.5%) and thin in 27 - 37 years (48.6%) and 38 -49 years (50%); The most frequent type of recession in the patients evaluated according to their age group was type I in the 16 - 26 age group (30%) and type II in the other age groups with 40% and 14.3% respectively, the inferential analysis according to Pearson's χ2 test showed a p = 0.000 ˂ 0.05. Thus, it is concluded that there is a relationship between the periodontal phenotype and gingival recessions in orthodontic patients treated in the dental clinic.
