Competencias cognitivas y prácticas del cuidado de enfermería sobre el manejo del catéter central de inserción periférica (PICC) en el servicio de cuidados intensivos neonatales del hospital III José Cayetano Heredia, Piura 2024

Abstract

Introducción: : Es crucial usar un catéter central de inserción periférica (PICC), debido al impacto positivo en la probabilidad de supervivencia neonatal. Además, facilita la actualización del personal en cuanto al conocimiento, técnicas y manejo del PICC, lo cual contribuye a prevenir complicaciones y promover la recuperación del neonato. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre las competencias cognitivas y prácticas del cuidado de enfermería en el uso del catéter central de inserción periférica (PICC) del servicio de cuidados intensivos neonatales del Hospital Regional III José Cayetano Heredia, Piura 2024. Métodos: Estudio deductivo, no experimental de corte trasversal, hipotético. Compuesto por 25 profesionales de enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales del Hospital Regional III José Cayetano Heredia. Se utilizará el cuestionario teniendo en cuenta el conocimiento de catéter venoso de inserción periférica (PICC), así como la guía de observación de instrucciones en cuanto el cuidado que utilizan las/los enfermeros/os en la inserción del PICC.

Introduction: It is crucial to use a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC), due to the positive impact on the probability of neonatal survival. In addition, it facilitates the updating of staff in terms of knowledge, techniques and management of the PICC, which contributes to preventing complications and promoting the recovery of the newborn. Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between cognitive competencies and nursing care practices on the management of the peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) in the neonatal intensive care service of Hospital III José Cayetano Heredia, Piura 2024. Methods: Deductive, non-experimental, cross-sectional, hypothetical study. Composed of 25 nursing professionals from the neonatal intensive care unit of the José Cayetano Heredia Regional Hospital III. The questionnaire will be used taking into account the knowledge of the peripherally inserted venous catheter (PICC), as well as the observation guide of instructions regarding the care used by the nurses in the insertion of the PICC.
