Inteligencia emocional y desempeño docente en el instituto superior Daniel Alcides Carrión, año académico 2021

Abstract

La presente investigación estableció como objetivo determinar la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y el desempeño docente en el profesorado del Instituto Carrión de la ciudad de Lima, año académico 2021. Investigación aplicada, de nivel descriptivo correlacional y un diseño no experimental transversal, la muestra estuvo conformada por 101 docentes, a los cuales se les aplicó el Inventario de Cociente Emocional (I-CE) de BarOn para adultos con 133 ítems y medir la inteligencia emocional (IE), así también se usó un cuestionario de elaboración propia con 44 ítems en base al marco de competencias del docente de educación superior tecnológico en el área de la docencia (Ministerio de Educación [MINEDU], 2019). Los resultados se obtuvieron utilizando el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman con un nivel de significancia de 0.05, resultando un valor de Rho=0.333 con p=0.01, que indica la existencia de una relación significativa entre la inteligencia emocional y el desempeño docente en el Instituto Carrión. Concluyendo que hay una relación positiva y significativa, pero débil entre estas variables, lo cual ha demostrado la hipótesis planteada de la existencia de una relación entre inteligencia emocional (IE) y el desempeño docente.

The present research established the objective of determining the relationship between emotional intelligence and teaching performance in the teaching staff of the Instituto Carrión in the city of Lima in the academic year 2021. The research was of an applied type, with a correlational descriptive research level and a cross-sectional nonexperimental design, the sample consisted of 101 teachers, to whom the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory (I-CE) was applied for adults with 133 items and measure emotional intelligence (EI) as well as a self-elaborated questionnaire with 44 items based on the competence framework of the teacher of technological higher education in the area of teaching (MINEDU, 2019). The results were obtained using the Spearman correlation coefficient with a significance level of 0.05, resulting in a value of Rho = 0.333 with p = 0.01, which indicates the existence of a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and teaching performance at the Instituto Carrión. Concluding that there is a positive and significant, but weak, relationship between these variables, which has demonstrated the hypothesis of the existence of a relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and teacher performance.
