Evaluación nutricional en pacientes con aislamiento domiciliario infectados con SARS-CoV-2 atendidos en un hospital de nivel II-1 de la provincia de Junín – 2021

Abstract

Introducción: El conocimiento del estado nutricional de los pacientes al ingreso a aislamiento domiciliario por SARS-CoV-2 y la detección precoz de pacientes en riesgo nutricional, es importante para tomar una oportuna actitud terapéutica y evitar las consecuencias relacionadas con la desnutrición. Objetivo: Determinar el estado nutricional en pacientes con aislamiento domiciliario infectados con SARS-CoV-2 atendidos en un Hospital nivel II-1 de la provincia de Junín 2021. Metodología: Investigación deductiva, cuantitativa y aplicada, describe las características clínicas de pacientes con SARS-CoV-2 en asilamiento domiciliario. Resultados: Del total de pacientes estudiados, el 56% fueron del sexo masculino y el 44% al sexo femenino; el grupo etario de 36 años a 50 años representan el porcentaje más alto con un 34% y los pacientes > 66 años el menor porcentaje con un 12% del total. Según el IMC, los pacientes presentaron estado nutricional normal y sobrepeso en 58% y 34% respectivamente. En relación al nivel de albúmina, el 90% presentó niveles de albúmina normales y solo el 10% tuvo albúmina baja. Con respecto al nivel de linfocitos, el 96% presentó niveles normales y solo 4% tuvo niveles bajos. Conclusiones: Los pacientes con SARS-CoV-2 en asilamiento domiciliario, la mayoría presentó un estado nutricional normal y solo un pequeño porcentaje fueron desnutridos, así lo demuestra el IMC, los niveles de albúmina y linfocitos. Según el IMC, un porcentaje importante (34%) tuvo sobrepeso.

Introduction: Knowledge of the nutritional status of patients at admission to home isolation by SARS-CoV-2 and the early detection of patients at nutritional risk, is important to take a timely therapeutic attitude and avoid the consequences related to malnutrition. Objective: To determine the nutritional status of patients with home isolation infected with SARS-CoV-2 treated in a level II-1 hospital in the province of Junín 2021. Methodology: Quantitative and applied deductive research describes the clinical characteristics of patients with SARS-CoV-2 in home isolation. Results: Of the total patients studied, 56% were male and 44% female; the age group of 36 years to 50 years represents the highest percentage with 34% and patients > 66 years the lowest percentage with 12% of the total. According to the BMI, patients presented normal nutritional status and overweight in 58% and 34% respectively. Regarding the level of albumin, 90% had normal albumin levels and only 10% had low albumin. Regarding the lymphocyte level, 96% presented normal levels and only 4% had low levels. Conclusions: Patients with SARS-CoV-2 in home confinement, most presented a normal nutritional status and only a small percentage were malnourished, as demonstrated by BMI, albumin levels and lymphocytes. According to the BMI, a significant percentage (34%) were overweight.
