Adolescence is a vulnerable stage for the development of mental health problems and risky eating behaviors that may affect well-being and nutritional status. The aim of this study was to determine the association between symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress and risky eating behaviors among school adolescents in Lima, Peru, in 2026. A quantitative, basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted. The sample consisted of 179 third-year secondary school students from the Emblematic Educational Institution “Isabel La Católica.” Data were collected using the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26). Statistical analysis included frequencies, percentages, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, and the Chi-square test. The results showed that anxiety had the highest prevalence of pathological symptoms (84.3%), followed by depression (76.4%). Stress was mainly reported at a normal level (75.4%). In addition, 20.7% of the students presented risky eating behaviors, with the dieting dimension being the most predominant (89.9%). No statistically significant associations were found between symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress and risky eating behaviors (p > 0.05). It is concluded that there is no significant association between the variables studied. However, the high prevalence of emotional symptoms and risky eating behaviors highlights the need to implement preventive strategies and comprehensive interventions within the school setting.en_US
