Capacidad funcional y riesgo de caída en pacientes con artrosis de rodilla del centro especializado neomedica, Miraflores-2024

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre la capacidad funcional y el riesgo de caída en pacientes con artrosis de rodilla atendidos en el Centro Especializado Neomedica, Miraflores, durante 2024. Este estudio se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y correlacional, con una muestra censal de 80 pacientes seleccionados según criterios específicos. Se emplearon dos instrumentos validados: el cuestionario WOMAC para medir capacidad funcional (dolor, rigidez y funcionalidad) y la escala de Tinetti para evaluar el riesgo de caídas. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 77% de los participantes fueron mujeres y el grupo etario predominante estaba entre los 56 y 60 años (35%). En cuanto al estado civil, el 60% eran casados. El análisis estadístico mediante la correlación de Spearman reveló una relación significativa entre las variables estudiadas. Se encontró una correlación negativa moderada (r=−0.419) entre la capacidad funcional y el dolor, asimismo, se halló una correlación negativa débil (r=−0.265) con la rigidez, en relación entre la capacidad funcional y funcionalidad fue positiva y fuerte (r=0.746),. Finalmente, se confirmó una correlación negativa muy alta (r=−0.972) entre la capacidad funcional y el riesgo de caída en pacientes con artrosis de rodilla atendidos en el Centro Especializado Neomedica, Miraflores, durante 2024.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between functional capacity and the risk of falling in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee treated at the Neomedica Specialized Center, Miraflores, during 2024. This study was developed under a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational approach, with a census sample of 80 patients selected according to specific criteria. Two validated instruments were used: the WOMAC questionnaire to measure functional capacity (pain, stiffness and functionality) and the Tinetti scale to assess the risk of falls. The results showed that 77% of the participants were women and the predominant age group was between 56 and 60 years (35%). Regarding marital status, 60% were married. Statistical analysis using Spearman's correlation revealed a significant relationship between the variables studied. A moderate negative correlation (r=-0.419) was found between functional capacity and pain, likewise, a weak negative correlation (r=-0.265) was found with stiffness, and the relationship between functional capacity and functionality was positive and strong (r=0.746). Finally, a very high negative correlation (r=-0.972) was confirmed between functional capacity and the risk of falling in patients with knee osteoarthritis treated at the Neomedica Specialized Center, Miraflores, during 2024.
