Adicción a las redes sociales y bienestar psicológico en estudiantes de secundaria de un centro educativo del distrito de Abancay, Apurímac – 2024

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación fue evaluar cómo se relacionan la adicción a las redes sociales y el bienestar psicológico en estudiantes de secundaria de un centro educativo del distrito de Abancay. El estudio se llevó a cabo siguiendo un enfoque cuantitativo y un método hipotético deductivo, con un diseño no experimental de nivel correlacional, tipo básico y con corte transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 555 estudiantes de 1° a 5° de secundaria de un colegio en Apurímac, quienes respondieron el Cuestionario de adicción a las redes sociales (ARS) y la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico BIEPS – J. Los hallazgos indicaron que la adicción a las redes sociales manifestó una correlación significativa débil inversa con el bienestar psicológico (rho= 0.14; p=0.03<0.05); de la misma manera, la adicción a las redes sociales se correlacionó con las dimensiones: control de situaciones (rho=-0.30; p=0.01<0.05), aceptación de sí mismo (rho=-0.11; p=0.02<0.05), vínculos psicosociales (rho=-0.12; p=0.03<0.05) y proyectos (rho=-0.17; p=0.00<0.05). Fue así que se concluyó que en caso los estudiantes manifiesten un nivel elevado de adicción a las redes sociales se presentará un menor bienestar psicológico.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate how social media addiction and psychological well-being are related in high school students from an educational center in the district of Abancay. The study was carried out following a quantitative approach and a hypothetical-deductive method, with a non-experimental correlational level, basic type and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 555 students from 1st to 5th grade of high school from a school in Apurímac, who answered the Social Media Addiction Questionnaire (ARS) and the BIEPS - J Psychological Well being Scale. The findings indicated that social media addiction showed a significant weak inverse correlation with psychological well-being (rho = -0.14; p = 0.03 <0.05); Similarly, social media addiction was correlated with the following dimensions: situational control (rho=-0.30; p=0.01<0.05), self-acceptance (rho=-0.11; p=0.02<0.05), psychosocial connections (rho=-0.12; p=0.03<0.05), and projects (rho=-0.17; p=0.00<0.05). It was thus concluded that students with a high level of social media addiction will experience lower psychological well-being.
